About this deal

Dueringer presented the gift to the group after he presented the program “Destination Guthrie” — the story of his family’s 3,800-mile journey in 1867 from Hanau, Germany, to Liverpool, England, to the U.S., down the Ottawa Trail and finally to Guthrie in Ford County, just north of Gibson City. The map given to the historical society “clearly and distinctly shows the Ottawa Trail from Ottawa down through Ford County and on to Danville,” Dueringer said.

In 1860, Johann, yearning for fresh air and to escape the confines of the city, went west as Horace Greeley recommended: ‘Go west, young man.’ He traveled the Erie Canal and through the Great Lakes and would end up in the growing metropolis of Ottawa, Illinois, on the Illinois River. On the down side, the tractors had a large turning circle and weak power steering. Added to this spare parts have become hard to find as the company is now out of business. One specialist parts provider is Jas P Wilson of Scotland. Bobby Carl Leach is a local playboy who owns numerous investments and has an infamous reputation. He intends to manipulate the local history of Native Americans and its associated law of tribal affairs, claiming descent of the Yazoo tribe through his great-grandfather. A Yazoo activist from the county, Chief Larry, befriends Leach and agrees to enter into a deal to receive lots of land from Leach for his newly regrouped Yazoo Nation. In return, the land is largely developed as a casino under the protection of federal law, rendering it untouchable by outraged local and state authorities. (In fact the Yazoo tribe, which used to inhabit large parts of the present state of Mississippi, was decimated in 18th wars with French settlers and with other tribes. It ceased to exist as an identifiable social group.) Tom Dueringer of Smyrna, Tenn., formerly of the Gibson City area, and Judy Jepsen-Popel, president of the Ford County Historical Society, pose with an 1860 version of a map of Illinois that Dueringer donated to the historical society during its Nov. 16 meeting at the Moyer District Library in Gibson City. The map — which is in a “beautiful wooden frame and museum glass by Hobby Lobby,” Dueringer said — will be displayed at the historical society’s Water Tower Museum behind City Hall in downtown Paxton, which is open from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturdays or by appointment by calling 217-379-4111.In the program he gave to the historical society, Dueringer explained in great detail how his family ended up leaving Germany and arriving at its eventual destination of Ford County:

Later, the man gives the resident Playboy issues (pornography is banned for residents) and introduces him to his elderly landlady, making the resident very happy indeed. They continue to bond over their love of history. I have a pinion setting guagein a wooden crate complete with the shimming drawings for the FRONT diffs (part no 6f 2004-c) left and right to suit 1124 and similar models for sale. ex County Commercial Cars in Fleet, Hants. The first is 6B2C then underneath is B226 and underneath that is B821001 Any help will be appreciated on the model of this county. thanks Craig Raymond is a prolific writer who has delusions of grandeur, as well as delusions of success in his numerous legal appeals. He claims to have scores of lawyers ready to exonerate him and who are filing motions and briefs in all directions. Raymond had gone through intellectual phases of religion (or atheism), diet, exercise, music, and literature. He wrote nine bulky books, using sophisticated words which his family does not understand - but in fact no publisher wanted them. Latterly County produced the 974 which was based on the Ford 7610, the 1164, 1174 and 1184 which was launched in 1979. The 1184 was built around a TW10 at 120bhp from the Ford 401S engine and had a weight distribution of 3.5 tonnes on the front axle and 2 tonnes on the rear axle. The 1454 weighed 7 tonnes and produced 145bhp from the turbocharged version of the engine fitted to the 1184. In 1978 the 1454 was superseeded by the 1474 (based on the Ford 9700) which was given a longer wheelbase and 149bhp, before been uprated to 153bhp when the base unit was changed to the TW20.

I have a County 954 in good condition – could any one give tell me what they might be worth – How many were made ???? County also made unequal wheeled tractors. Production started in 1968 with the 4000 Four. Based on the Ford 4000 the front axle was driven by a single propshaft with this design. These tractors were built to offer customers better headland manouvrability, although the traction capabilities were not as good as the equal wheeled machines. Production continued with the 6600 Four, 7600 Four, 7700 Four, and the 7610 Four. County also made 4WD conversions of International and Leyland tractors, albeit in limited numbers. The 634 All Wheel Drive was based on the International 634 and about 50 were made between 1969 and 1972 – these tractors produced 63bhp.STEVE thank you very much for the info on my 764 > i have a couple more mysteries for you> i have no idea if ford clutch and transmission parts are interchangable with county parts??? also dont know what model ford the 764 is most closely related to??heave you ever seen one with a front loader attatchment built by a company called pennsteel manufacturing???? thanks for your help >JOHN>SAN JOSE CA. Thanks for sharing your County tractor memories with us. Whenever a County is up for auction or at at show they always attract the crowds – I suppose it’s the fact that they were so ahead of anything else when it came to putting power down onto the ground (UK tractors anyway). There are still machines on farms in our area which are kept specifically for spreading fertiliser on steep hill sides. GIBSON CITY — Tom Dueringer of Smyrna, Tenn., formerly of the Gibson City area, presented the Ford County Historical Society with a gift on behalf of the Dueringer family — an 1860 version of a map of Illinois — during its Nov. 16 meeting at the Moyer District Library in Gibson City. Much like the Germany they left in 1854, America was hurtling into an unavoidable Civil War. The country was being torn apart by states rights and slavery. With the election of Abraham Lincoln of Illinois as the 16th president, six Southern states declared their succession from the Union. On April 12, 1861, Confederate soldiers fired on Ft. Sumter and the unavoidable war was on. President Lincoln sent out a call for 75,000 troops to put down the armed rebellion. Our great-great grandfather Karl Wilhelm (William) Dueringer in 1854 in the province of Theringer in the town of Hanau east of Frankfurt made a fateful decision that would generations of our family for years to come. Germany in the 1850s was a country caught up in political unrest, riots, rebellion and turmoil. Karl was greatly concerned about what real future his family would have in that political and economic environment. Others were of the same opinion: In 1854 alone, 210,000 fellow Germans would also immigrate to the land of opportunity, America.

Grisham took up the issue of Native American gaming, at greater length and depth, in his novel The Whistler (2016). There are a number of different books and DVD’s available about County tractors. Stuart Gibbard has written and narrated several books/DVD’s about Countys, in particular his County: A Pictorial Review is Vintage Tractor Engineer’s favourite. It is a collection of 280 rare and mainly colour prototype and production photos of these tractors from 1929-1983. Synchro problems can be diagnosed when you have problems changing gear on the move or can cause jumping out of gear. If it is a synchro problem it will more than likely be specific to one gear. Among the 50 lawyers in a small town of 10,000 people is the protagonist of this story. He is another "ham-and-egger" local attorney, dealing with minor bankruptcies, deeds, divorces, personal injuries, and other matters. Some of his files are the eponymous ones of the title; he has let them to go untouched for so long that clients forget they ever retained him (and the cases "go bad" like untouched fish). The attorney is tired of his mediocre life and feels unappreciated by his family. IF anybody has a copy of an 1174 manual I would be very keen to get a copy. More than happy to pay. Clutch faults tend to cause crunching when the tractor is stationary and when you try and engage a gear. Also can make it difficult to take it out of gear and in bad cases machine will try to creep forward. Usually either warped plate or friction plate ceased on splines.
