A darker base layer is how you create the illusion of depth as it will contrast with the 3D elements which will be catching the light. Precise execution and suitable production technology allow for a long-term usage of masking under different tactical and field conditions without any signs of material usage. The Ghillie Hood does not provide any physical protection, but it offers some resistance against the elements.
