About this deal

It’s been featured in Science Magazine and now is a social media sensation on platforms like TikTok. Mysteriously immortal, William is taken on a journey with no end, where he encounters solitary desperation, strange and violent lifeforms, a forbidden love, and the nature of reality itself. I got heavy Wade Watts vibes from Robinson's main character of Will Chanokh; good at everything he does, feels ownership and entitlement over his romantic interest, and never faces any real consequences for his actions. Add in the fact that he's effectively immortal and it removes any dramatic stakes for the character. This concept might be intriguing for some, but for Dylan Moran, a man widowed recently and tragically, it’s positively irresistible. But what if he isn’t the only one with the same idea? In fact, what if he isn’t even the only Dylan Moran with the same idea? What if the scariest thing isn’t the unknowns but the man who wears your face?

Kit, Borys (June 28, 2019). "Mark Wahlberg in Talks to Replace Chris Evans in Antoine Fuqua Thriller Infinite". The Hollywood Reporter. Archived from the original on June 28, 2019 . Retrieved April 23, 2021. The original idea here was to mix psychology and quantum physics, something one of the characters in the book specializes in, the Many Worlds, Many Minds theory. Since there may very well be infinite worlds out there, it means there might very well be infinites yous out there, each one leading a variant on your life, so why not find your best possible option? After all, given a choice, one should always choose the best possible scenario. WOW!!! What a ride that was! What an awesome find!!! So glad I took a chance on Infinite in a recent audible sale! The book begins with the protagonist waking up from cryo sleep just to get stabbed again and events slowly and viciously devolve from that point onwards. The beginning reads like horror and the reader is taken along for the ride, step by bloody step as the narrator comes to grips with the new horrific reality. It’s great, really, because it’s like getting something extra, a fun bonus. I kind of think of the quantum thriller genre or subgenre as Blake Crouch territory since he’s the one who’s been doing these great science fiction/thriller mash ups lately, but this novel has enough legs of its own to stand on.

So what does his double want ... and how did he get to Dylan's world? If his wife is dead in this universe .. would she still be alive in another one? Does he really want to go there? Will his double allow him ? Ty Burr of The Boston Globe gave the film 1.5/4 stars and wrote: "Heading straight to streaming platform Paramount+ without the embarrassment of appearing in theaters first, the movie is both blissfully incoherent and weirdly generic, as if it had been assembled from the spare parts of other movies and glued together with stuntwork." [31] From The Hollywood Reporter, David Rooney said: " Infinite is a soulless grind. Juiced up with a succession of CG-enhanced accelerated chases and fight action interspersed with numbing bursts of high-concept geek speak, Antoine Fuqua's sci-fi thriller isn't helped by a lead performance from Mark Wahlberg at his most inexpressive." [32] Although well written, I just couldn't suspend my imagination to enjoy this one. The plot is a bit complex, and I had to re-read some sections at one point because it didn't make sense to me. The characters are deftly drawn, and as in most books, some I liked, some I didn't. The ending was a bit of a surprise.

Wondering why you should buy an Infinitebook?

The Galahad, a faster-than-light spacecraft, carries fifty scientists and engineers on a mission to prepare Kepler 452b, Earth's nearest habitable neighbor at 1400 light years away. With Earth no longer habitable and the Mars colony slowly failing, they are humanity's best hope.

Again, you will view these gorgeous library rooms from a roped-off doorway and there is a ‘hallway of curiosities’ in between them. I’ve always admired people who live by the old adage “If you don’t have something nice to say, it’s better to say nothing at all." But I’m not one of those people.Don't be put off by the idea that this hints at science fiction because this book is definitely more of a thriller. It was incredibly suspenseful and even when it was a little slow, it was still heading somewhere and my impatience kept me reading anyway! The ending crept up on me and was nice and twisty, just the way I like my thrillers.
