About this deal

For short runs programmed in WODs and for shorter interval runs, I like the UA TriBase Reign 5 and it should be comfortable enough for these running contexts. The Micro G Foam midsole’s density has good energy return for faster forefoot-biased running settings. Cross-training shoes are designed for different activities based on the context of their construction. That being said when I have cross-training shoes that are specifically designed for certain activities, I’ll then take my standard approach and create a slight bias toward their specificity. One of my favorite things about the Reign 4 is that it felt wide foot friendly but there has never been a moment in the Under Armour TriBase Reign 5 where I didn’t feel it crushing my left pinky. Now that isn’t new for me – I’ve had to skip out on most Nike shoes because of the narrow fit and I find most footwear, in general, to be too narrow for my Hobbit feet (namely in the forefoot). One person says: “I have been using these for a couple of weeks and the difference they have made to resistance workouts is noticeable. I usually wear running trainers which are comfortable but not as practical for HIIT and lifting. Not 5 stars because not as pretty as some other shoes. Otherwise would recommend!”

Plus, I think the density of these shoes could be a turn-off regarding cushion for some if they opt for wearing these cross-training shoes all day and you’ll get more out of these shoes if you save them for training. The Reebok Nano X3 comes with a Flexweave upper that extends from the forefoot to the midfoot. The boot is enclosed with the TPU from the Lift and Run chassis system and it has a fair amount of structure and padding to it. The chassis system injects in the medial and lateral midfoot as well. Laces and Tongue On top of their stability for lifting, they also did a good job in the contexts of CrossFit and cross-training. This shoe’s upper did a good job with abrasion resistance from rope climbs and for plyometrics, the Reign 5 has a nice athletic fit to them. If you like a higher drop or a little more “heel” when lifting, then I think you’ll resonate better with the Nano X3. Conversely, if you like a flatter shoe for training, then opt for the TriBase Reign 5 as it’s closer to a zero-drop shoe.If you have additional sizing and fit questions about the UA TriBase Reign 5, drop a comment below and share what shoe and size you currently wear and I can work to help you out accordingly. Price Assessment After performing a smoke test on the Nano X3 in the lab, we gave it a score of 4 out of 5 for ventilation. In the gym, this meant that our feet were consistently aerated and kept dry.

I always recommend spot-cleaning cross-training shoes and using a three-pronged approach to do it thoroughly. DO NOT put your cross-training shoes in your washing and drying machines. Instead, follow the four steps below for properly cleaning cross-training shoes. Arune: I’ll keep this one short: the laces don’t stay laced and that means the entire fit of the shoe is FUBAR unless you double knot it…and then unknot and reknot between sets. Over the course of my workout sessions and testing of the UA TriBase Reign 5, I’ve found multiple things to like about this shoe.

This model’s blend of stability and versatility is good for most WODs and their durability regarding their sole and upper seem to be good for most demands from CrossFit as well. With rope climbs, the WARP upper did well with abrasion resistance and the toe wrap feels durable for burpees. The Adidas Dropset Trainer 2 cross-training shoes are my favorite shoes for overall lifting and gym sessions. This model has received multiple updates that have made it awesome for heavy lifting sessions, specifically.
