About this deal

The tentative steps she takes to form new relationships with people she meets but also to leave behind habits from prison and also the appreciation of things once considered every day routine!

An irresistible new thriller . . . Logan has devised an intricate plot of shifting loyalties and duelling timelines, but the real triumph in The Mother is that fierce, flawed title character. She's a mother like no other." - A J Finn Right from the start you are gripped as we join Heather Vernon watching her own funeral and mentioning her husbands funeral. Your interest is immediately piqued wondering what could have happened. The fact that Heather is hiding and in disguise adds to the mystery. I raced through this book. It starts with a real bang – that first scene sets a real tone of mystery – and the tension is always high, with plenty happening to keep your attention focused. You’re never quite sure who you can trust, and the fact that his death might be linked to corruption higher up in the government raises the stakes further.Having become a big fan of T.M. Logan’s writing I’m extremely grateful to Tracy Fenton for inviting me to participate in the blog tour for his latest thriller The Mother. I’m delighted to share my review of The Mother today. You’ll also find my review of The Curfew here. An irresistible new thriller . . . Logan has devised an intricate plot of shifting loyalties and duelling timelines, but the real triumph in The Mother is that fierce, flawed title character. She's a mother like no other' A.J. Finn, International bestselling author of The Woman in the Window Ten years later and Heather is released. She is determined to find out exactly what happened to Liam and find whoever it is that framed her, no matter the cost. As she tries to rebuild her life and connect again with her children she has missed so much, but her determination to uncover the truth takes over. My early experiences of Tim Logan's books ended in varying degrees of disappointment. I found that they either flattered to deceive, or else they simply didn't live up to the amount of hype surrounding them. All of that changed when I read his excellent previous novel, "The Curfew" and this latest offering is again forcing me to re-evaluate my earlier impression of this author. A true single-sitting read, The Mother is the best yet from the master of the heartbreaking, heart-pounding, head-spinning thriller. * Ellery Lloyd, author of PEOPLE LIKE HER *

A woman attends a funeral, standing in the shadows and watching in agony as her sons grieve. But she is unable to comfort them - or reveal her secret. My books have sold more than two million copies in the UK and have been translated into 22 other languages including French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Korean, German, Hungarian, Serbian, Romanian, Greek and Dutch. A heart-stopping, twisting, unmissable thrill-ride. The Mother kept me glued to my seat and guessing until the very end. No one does it better than T.M. Logan ' Chris Whitaker Two weeks after it came out as an e-book, I discovered that my day job – by this point I was a deputy director in charge of the university’s communications team – was being made redundant as part of a restructure. That was when I decided to take the plunge into writing full-time, which I have been doing since summer 2017. It’s a job that I love. I live in Bristol and I knew all the landmarks, streets of the areas this author used in this book, it trebled the enjoyment for me as I could recognise these areas in my minds eye. Very impactful. One of the aspects of The Mother that I found most affecting was the way T.M. Logan illustrated how society judges by appearance, or continues to condemn those who find themselves facing adversity without knowing the full details. This prejudicial aspect lends a thought-provoking element that made me feel quite sad, even as I was enjoying the fast pace and the excitement of the plot. His thriller, Trust Me, begins when a woman is asked to look after a stranger’s baby on a train – only for the mother to vanish. When she looks in the baby’s things, she finds a note that says: ‘Please protect Mia. Don’t trust the police. Don’t trust anyone.’ Things soon become more complicated for Heather as it becomes clear that someone out there will stop at nothing and go to extreme lengths to stop her from uncovering the truth. Alone and with only a couple of people willing to help her, Heather soon begins to wonder if she can trust the help around her and asks herself if she is better off going it alone. A decade earlier, Heather gets her children ready for bed and awaits the return of her husband Liam, little realising that this is the last night they will spend together as a family. Because tomorrow she will be accused of Liam’s murder. At every point of trying to find who has framed her for the murder of Liam, Heather faces peril every step she takes in her quest for the truth.

I was up and down with how I felt about this book. One minute I was loving it and wrapped up in the fast-paced drama. Other times I felt like I was slugging my way through it to find out why Heather had been framed. It was both slow and fast; it was both exciting and boring. I am still determining how I feel about it overall. The Curfew follows the events of a hot midsummer's night, when five teenagers go up to the woods to celebrate the end of exams, and only four come out...

My goodness I enjoyed this perfectly crafted thriller, not least because T.M. Logan has an eye for detail that adds just enough description to bring alive his scenes without slowing pace and theme at all. The episodic nature of the plot means that The Mother would translate brilliantly into another superb television series. Indeed, I think this narrative is T.M. Logan at his best. A heart-stopping, twisting, unmissable thrill-ride. The Mother kept me glued to my seat and guessing until the very end. No one does it better than T.M. Logan. * Chris Whitaker, bestselling author of We Begin at the End * T.M. Logan takes you an emotional rollercoaster with his latest unputdownable thriller. He just gets better and better. * Heidi Perks *
