About this deal

Boozy.ph is owned and operated by BoozyLife, Inc., a liquor delivery service that offers your favorite brands at liquor store prices! I don't have a lot of experience with gin, and this is the 4th I've tried, and it's my favorite so far. My previous ones were Beefeater, Bombay Sapphire, and Aviation. The first gin from Japan's legendary Suntory - Roku Gin. This expression is made using a selection of botanicals, including six Japanese botanicals provide a whistle-stop tour of the four seasons. These include sakura leaf and sakura flower for spring, sencha tea and gyokuro tea for summer, sansho pepper for autumn and yuzu peel for winter. Traditional gin botanicals also featured include the likes of juniper, orange peel, lemon peel, coriander and cinnamon, among others.

These four seasons include the beautiful sakura leaf and sakura flower for spring, sencha tea and gyokuro tea for summer, sansho pepper for autumn and yuzu peel for winter.

Make yourself a large gin and tonic with plenty of ice and we encourage you to use a healthy slice of fresh ginger as a garnish. As a gin on its own, I found it good to be enjoyed Neat. It worked well in the Martini. You can make an Extra Dry Martini with Roku Gin and still have a Martini that seemingly has the impression of Dry Vermouth in it. Finally, I also thought it made a good Negroni. Does the plastic or foil seal look uniform or neat? Fakers of Roku Gin often skip over the seal part by either using clear plastic or with crooked writing as this is something most people overlook. I made an amazing negroni (1:1:1) with Roku Gin, Noilly Prat SV, and Campari. Gin and tonic was also good but I used an “artisanal” brooklyn made tonic, so that could have changed the flavor too.

The warm, pungent flavour of ginger further highlights the unique quality of the Japanese botanicals. In Japanese, roku means “six.” Suntory’s take on gin is called “six” after six quintessentially Japanese botanicals. Firstly, there’s green tea two ways: sencha and gyokuro. Cherry, also two ways: blossom and leaves. These six botanicals are each distilled individually. There’s another eight traditional botanicals bringing the grand total up to fourteen. This is one of the loveliest gin’s I have tasted. The experience I have had with other types of gin is that it has taken a few sips to adapt to the taste - I don’t get that with this gin, it is instantly tasty.

A very subtle and clean gin. Perhaps a little TOO clean and subtle. Nothing too unique about it, like I was hoping. But if someone is looking for a gin that doesn’t punch you in the face with botanicals, this is a good choice. I have previously brought this gin for a friends birthday gift, but at the time buying something I hadn’t tasted myself was risky. She did assure me it was really lovely - I can now agree :) It's got a very vibrant taste to me. I don't have the developed palate to describe what it tastes like, but I enjoy it, and it'll be my go-to gin, especially at this price point.I’ve just tried this gin last night and the first drink was a standard gin and tonic and as others have mention the gin has a very sting taste. The second drink I tried it with fresh ginger. Wow wow wow amazing the best gin combo ever Palate:Complex, multi layered, yet harmonious flavour of various botanicals. Traditional gin taste in the base, plus characteristic Japanese botanical notes with yuzu as the top note. Smooth and silky texture. Each botanical has been harvested at the peak of its season to extract the best flavour, and distilled to fully embody the blessings of nature. The harvest of the four seasons has been blended to create ROKU's balanced flavour. Flavor: Rich mouthfeel. Hints of cherry blossom early, easing into mid-palate leafy green tea with intimations of begramot and Earl Grey tea. Slight notes of peppery juniper. Bitter orange comes on late in surprising amounts, leading to impressions of vegetal wormwood.
