The Atomiza Clay Towel should be used out of direct sunlight, on freshly washed bodywork and glass that is cool to the touch. For best results, wash and rinse your car as usual and then, working on one panel or window at a time, spray both the surface to be treated and the polymerised rubber face of the towel with a suitable lubricant (we recommend using Auto Finesse Glide, although other clay bar lubricants may also be used). Next, fold the towel in half and then half again (with the rubber side out), then lay it on the panel and, using light pressure, begin rubbing it gently in straight lines in all directions. Initially you will feel some resistance (as the towel encounters bonded contaminants), but gradually this will ease until the towel glides freely, indicating that the contaminants have been fully removed and perfect smoothness restored. Repeat these steps until all of the bodywork and glass is done, and then rinse the whole car thoroughly and dry it off. Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary. The vast majority of customers are over the moon about this clay combo, but a few complain that it is not harsh enough to remove heavily contaminated surfaces. We completely get that: we advise to start with a medium grade clay bar if your car paint has been neglected, then switch to the fine grade. It’s no coincidence either that it looks and feels like a computer mouse. That’s because this shape is the most ergonomic and least fatiguing for the human hand. Prior to initial use rub the Ultra Clay Towel on glass using clay lubricant. Inspect surface of the Ultra Clay Towel before and during use. To clean the clay surface, spray clay surface with lubricant and wipe gently with hand. After repeated use, or if too much contamination is present, discard and use a new Ultra Clay Towel. Car surface decontamination by means of claying or clay-barring is often skipped or overlooked. Even though it takes significantly longer to complete a car, my personal choice is still with the traditional style clay bar as I find that it will remove the more stubborn contaminants more effectively and I have more control in terms of being careful with potential marring.If it still doesn’t, you can either clay bar it again with the same fine grade clay or use medium clay instead to speed up the process. Heavy clay should only be used in extreme circumstances like to remove heavy overspray because you may have to polish your car’s paint afterwards to remove the marring that heavy clay potentially leaves.

A Clay Cloth can be cleaned and reused by simply rinsing with clean water and leaving to air dry. (Do not machine wash or wring out the towel as this can damage the materials on the cloth) Without applying pressure, pass the Clay Cloth over the wet surface until the surface feels smooth. Because it’s so fine, polishing as a next step is not strictly necessary. This is the kind of clay bar you could in theory use every time you wash your car and keep it looking brand new. We worked in about 2’x2’ areas gently rubbing our “gold bar” in a crosswise pattern: up/down and side to side, constantly keeping the surface saturated with lubricant. The iron remover will partly dissolve these dust particles, which in turn will make it faster and easier to remove them with your clay bar. Gently rub the towel or mitt in straight lines, crosswise using an abundant amount of clay lubricant to prevent scratches. Don’t use soap of any kind as a lubricant, it’s not as effective with a higher risk of scratching. Move up and down, left to right instead of in a swirling motion. This minimizes the risk of making visible scratches or swirls during the process. While you rub the paint, the gunk and grit that’s rubbed off gets caught between the rubbery claying coating.
