About this deal
Apply a second coat 12-24 hours (overnight dry) after the first coat to build good colour and protection. As concrete is porous, the epoxy coating bonds to the base layer, creating a strong and seamless epoxy finish concrete surface. Garage floor tiles can be installed quickly and easily and give you access to your garage floor the same day. Other tiles are available that snap together making them relatively easy to install and providing some protection.
Remove any flaking or poorly bonded paint using a floor scraper for smaller areas or hire a grinder for larger areas. If you’re painting a new garage floor we recommend waiting 4-6 weeks before applying our kits, this will allow any trapped moisture to escape and the concrete to fully cure. The crevices and pores in other types of flooring surfaces attract a lot of bacteria and dirt, making them difficult to clean.
If the floor is heavily pitted or badly tampered, we would recommend a screed rather than a scratchcoat before applying our coating. If you're looking for a coating with increased slip resistance visit our Anti-Slip Epoxy Floor Coating page. If you have a good grounding in DIY then you should be able to complete the task yourself, ideally with an extra pair of hands. We would not recommend use in garages which are prone to flooding as this will affect the performance of the product. Once protected with a quality top coat it will have a high gloss finish, perhaps close to the same level of a Polyurea. Using this epoxy sealer will allow you to lock moisture away and stop damp coming through the floor.
