Mapei Ultracolor Plus Tile Grout is made up of a blend of special hydraulic binders, graded aggregates, special polymers, water repellent admixtures, organic molecules and pigments. Make sure your tiling project’s joints and seals stand up to everyday wear and tear with Mapesil, an acetic-crosslinking silicone sealant from the world’s leading manufacturer of tiling grout, adhesives and sealing products, Mapei. When Mapei Mapesil LM is exposed to the air, the surrounding humidity sets off the cure reaction and the sealant becomes flexible. The surrounding temperature only has a small impact on the cure rate of Mapei Mapesil LM, while the level of humidity in the surrounding air has the most influence. We highly recommend that the product is never applied if the temperature is below 0°C. Under certain conditions Mapei Mapesil LM Silicone may have a water-repellent effect along the edges of joints. This effect is only noticeable when surfaces are wet and is invisible when the same surfaces are dry. This phenomenon, however, has no effect on the product’s performance characteristics. Do not use Mapei Primer FD when sealing stone or marble. Mapei Mapesil LM does not emit unpleasant odours, and comes in the form of a thixotropic paste. It is easy to apply on vertical and horizontal surfaces and cures at room temperature through the humidity present in the air to form a flexible sealant. Seals made using Mapei Mapesil LM are extremely stable over time, even when exposed to inclement weather, industrial environments, temperature variations or water. The product remains flexible over a temperature range of between -40°C and +150°C. Expansion and movement joints on walls and floors must never be filled with Mapei Ultracolor Plus. Use a suitable flexible sealant from the MAPEI range.The resistance of Mapei Mapesil AC to chemical agents is generally excellent; however, due to the numerous products and working conditions to which Mapei Mapesil AC can be applied, it is always advisable to do a sample test in cases of doubt. When Mapesil LM is constantly immersed in treated water typically found in swimming pools its physical-mechanics may be affected prematurely. Given the wide range of products used to treat water and the actual quantities employed, its suitability over long periods may only be guaranteed following specific laboratory testing. Mapei Ultracolor Plus creates water repellent grout joints that have excellent colour uniformity. All colours are resistant to UV rays and atmospheric agents. Mapei Mapesil LM Silicone Sealant is a neutral, mould-resistant silicone sealant with very low emission level of volatile organic compounds (VOC), for use with natural stone and marble.

Do not apply Mapesil LM Silicone on rubber, heavily-plasticised plastics or bitumen. The oil and plasticising agents in the substrate may migrate to the surface and compromise the bond or penetrate into the sealant leading to a variation in colour and mechanical characteristics. Application of Mapei Primer FD: Where the use of Primer FD is necessary, it must be applied with a small brush onto the appropriate areas of the joints and left to dry for several minutes to allow the solvent to evaporate. Then apply Mapei Mapesil AC Silicone.the joint is sized so that the estimated maximum extension is not greater than 25% of the initial width (calculated at +20°C); Mapei Ultracolor Plus does not contain Portland cement and must not be mixed with gypsum or other hydraulic binders; never add water to the mix once it has started to set. Mapei Mapesil AC Silicone is a solvent-free, acetic crosslinking, mildew-resistant silicone sealant with low modulus of elasticity, available in 42 colours and transparent, to match the range of Mapei Coloured Grouts. After first having used a bonding enhancer, such as Mapei Primer FD, Mapei Mapesil AC Silicone can also be used on concrete, wood, metal, painted surfaces, plastic and rubber.

Sealing joints between sinks or sanitary ware and ceramic tiles in kitchens, bathrooms and showers with colours coordinated with the Mapei coloured grout ranges. The use of Mapei Mapesil AC is not recommended on highly plasticised material or on bituminous surfaces because of the release of substances that reduce bonding and penetrate into the sealant, altering the colour and resistance.If the cleaning operation is carried out too soon (the mix is still too wet), some of the mix may be removed from the joints. If grouting is carried out in extremely hot, dry or windy weather, we Mapei Ultracolor Plus forms a smooth, compact finished surface with optimum resistance to abrasion, compression and flexural strength, and good resistance to acids with a pH > 3. Floors are ready for light foot traffic after approx. 3 hours. Surfaces grouted with Mapei Ultracolor Plus may be put into service after 24 hours. Basins and swimming pools may be filled up 48 hours after grouting.
