About this deal

C’MON), but it was so cringe and flat that even if you’re not a fan of Marvel/DC, you’d think they’re masterpieces compared to this.

The question posed at the beginning is what happens when the US hero dies, and the answer is absolute nonsense. At that point, Black reveals that he is not actually there, only a hologram projected by a disc, at which point he detonates all 10 warheads in the nearby hangers. As a lifelong fan of superheroes and pulp fiction, I had to check out Reilly’s latest novella, Cobalt Blue. Cassie is angered that she and her remaining brothers are being left to die, and while apologetic, Stevenson is unable to give her any useful intel on the whereabouts of the Fury's remaining two sons. It might be because I've read every single one of his books, some of them multiple times, but this one was much more predictable. This is the fourth of Reilly's novels to feature a main female protagonist, following Bess in The Tournament, CJ Cameron in The Great Zoo of China, and Skye Rogers in The Secret Runners of New York.

If you love Superhero stories, the story of the Underdog, a good action-story, you will absolutely love this – it is just brilliant. In the post-novel interview, Reilly revealed that he had begun writing Cobalt Blue as a screenplay, before expanding the story into the current, novel version. Reflecting on the teachings of her parents and older siblings (except Black), she uses coloured sharpies to mark her helmet in her siblings' signature colours before she and Trey set out to prepare for the Furies' arrival.

I’d say it COULD have MAYBE worked as a teen action book, but even then it would have been SOOOOO BAD, because once you take away the terrible bits, guess what? Matthew's books are published in over twenty languages and have sold more than eight million copies worldwide. Matthew Reilly continues to produce some of the best action thrillers on the market today, and this is no exception, Cobalt Blue is another masterpiece in what is a collection of exceptional books. The story is about two people, a Russian and an American, who were first on site at a downed experimental satellite.

Cassie manages to trick the Fury into inhaling as the air pressure in the lab increases, and as she ducks into a hollow satellite and seals herself inside, the pressure suddenly drops, and the Fury of Russia's lungs explode. It was a mess that I just couldn’t stop listening to, so yeah, it probably did it’s job, but lets be real - it’s full of needless deaths that could have been avoided if these supposedly great superheroes uhh… ACTUALLY WORKED TOGETHER? They, and their subsequent offspring do battle, until one day Cobalt dies, and Fury takes the chance to kill the superhero offspring and take America for himself. Cobalt and Sergeant Furin found that they were evenly matched, and while the former was selfless, working to understand her powers and defend peoples' lives when they needed her, Furin was tyrannical, viscously reclaiming the old Soviet republics and taking whatever he desired, earning the moniker the Fury of Russia.
