Automower 1 series are the most basic versions. They have three wheels and are recommended for small lawns. Right now that series only conists of the Husqvarna Automower 105.

In the app you simply press schedule and create time slots for the different days of the week. You can have multiple slots with different time spans and multiple days attached to each slot. Husqvarna Automower 415X is, by lawn capacity, the second smallest robot lawn mower in Husqvarnas premium series of robots (the 400 series). It has a recommended lawn size of up to 16 000 square foot, and is part of the new Husqvarna platform that is rinse proof (IPX5) and slim in its design. She currently lives in Devon with her husband and two children, and recently renovated and extended the house. The property was previously a commercial nursery and boasts a half-acre plot, giving her plenty of space to road test the latest lawn mowers, hot tubs and garden tools. Automower® 415X is a grey-coloured robotic mower with a four wheel platform, designed for medium-sized lawns around 1500 m 2 with some slopes up to 40%. It has automatic passage handling and triple search function which facilitates navigation through complex areas, too. Automower® 415X replaces a medium to large pedestrian lawnmower.Automower®requires its charging station to be installed nearby an electricity power source, but the machine itself is battery-powered. The Husqvarna 400 series are the premium robot lawn mowers. They have a somewhat different design, like LED lights and such, but also come with full mobile connectivity and a huge set of features (like intelligent mapping, electronic cutting height adjustment, geofence etc). This series consist of Husqvarna Automower 405X, Automower 415X, Automower 430X, Automower 435X AWD, Automower 450X.However, we love that the 415X robot lawn mower is IPX5. It’s so easy to rinse the wheels and the blades when needed. The included Automower Connect 10 years contract only applies if a third party provides sufficient mobile coverage in the area.

The 2022 version of the Automower 415X (and last years version if you update the software) come with a handy feature named intelligent mapping. It’s a brand new feature where the robot lawn mower analyzes your lawn by GPS and measuring data, and then saves a map of it. You can use that map to create different zones, and each zone can have its individual mowing schedule and cutting height. This means you can have one zone that is temporarily not being mowed at all, and other areas being mowed more or less often. Husqvarna Automower 415X constantly cuts the grass as it grows. This is by far the gentlest way to cut grass. Whereas ordinary mowing usually takes off several centimetres of clippings which are then collected and removed, the clippings from Husqvarna Automower 415X are only a few millimetres long. They will fall to the soil, mulch and fertilise your lawn, making it the ideal automatic lawn mower for your garden, no matter the size. Spot cutting Brilliant for under the patio table (which needs to be moved out of the way). Just pop the mower in position and press Spot cutting mode on the menu. Once done it carries on with its usual schedule. Clever stuff.

Step 2: Remove the chassis. You do this by pulling the chassis upwards with one hand while keeping the Automower in place with your other hand. Underneath the robot lawn mower is a knife disk holding three razor blade knives. They are hiding under a cover plate and are mostly only visible when the disk spins. This is great because robots that keep their razor blades uncovered usually gather a lot of grass around the screws which mess up the movement of the blades. Besides the AIM functionality, you can also program up to three different starting points. Since the robot lawn mower come with guide wire support you can fine-tune your installation so that the robot a certain percentage of the time travels via the guide wire to a remote area and start mowing there instead of close to the station. There are settings such as how far you want the robot to travel over the boundary wire before turning around, which is important since you want the edges to be mowed too. There is sadly no edge cutting option, but the “drive past wire” feature will mow the edge anyway so it’s not really a problem.

The Automower 300 series is their standard models. They only have a bluetooth connection (you can buy an additional module for LTE connectivity), are recommended for medium sized lawns and don’t have the premium design with LED lights and such. Right now this series consists of Husqvarna Automower 310 (2021), Automower 310 Mark II (2022), Automower 315 (2021) and Automower 315 Mark II (2022).The aforementioned application can be used to access the exact GPS location of the robot mower, giving you piece of mind wherever you are in the world.Automower® 415X includes an anti-theft alarm that will sound whenever it is carried away, requiring your unique PIN to deactivate it. IfAutomower® is lifted off the ground or tips over, the blades – which are located in the middle of the machine, far from the edge of the mower – will automatically stop. The Automower 415X has a big red stop button on the top. That button also opens a hatch covering the display and the buttons to navigate the user interface on said display. There is no knob for the cutting height adjustment since that is programmed electronically. Note that the mower will be disconnected from Automower® Connect when the installation starts. It will reconnect automatically when the update is complete. The update process usually takes about five minutes.
