About this deal

The dupe Madame Isabelle from La Rive is much better in projection, longevity and also a more refined aroma.

Which one finds better of it, is again a matter of taste here (the jasmine note with CM I find however more successful! How else can they make the exact same perfume every time again (It is not as if they sell just a couple of bottles of coco mad). There is something under the fresh orange and pretty rose, maybe the vetiver, that smells a little off, but it is so slight, and I am sensitive to vetiver.I still go there sometimes, because then I can provide the big family with one blow all around, with the basal products of daily life.

While the absence of Chanel’s luxury packaging might give the game away, both scents have citrus and floral top notes and many of the same ingredients, including bergamot, rose and jasmin. Apparently on The Wright Stuff yesterday they did a blind test between this and Coco Mademoiselle and they chose the Lidl version as the best scent! When you spray it, it is overpowering but just because it's a cheap perfume hence lots of alcohol in it.

I've learned from from this forum that it's a dupe of Coco Mademoiselle, which is lovely, but it smells like so. CM can be a lot to deal with sometimes, very in your face with the patchouli, almost to a point that it feels harsh.

I am sure that actual fans of Coco Mlle - as opposed to random members of the public who submit to the test - will be the hardest to convince of the likeness. I will be going to check out Lidl today but I don't hold much hope as I also heard someone talking about it at the gym this morning.

I do think the notes resemble CM, however the dry down represents something a bit more synthetic and weird smelling on me. Suddenly Madame Glamour is a high-end clean with a bit of patchouli (warm kind of clean, not sharp) on me. I am in the "I prefer this to Coco Mademoiselle" camp, and so is my husband and 2 other people I made blind tests on! I do like Coco M but I can't really wear it much because I find it very strong and would prefer a lighter touch so Lidl's Madame Glamour might be the ticket.

Mr B did his best to spray jets of scent of comparable force from a similar distance, so that the only thing I had to go on was the respective smells of the two perfumes on my skin. Please read the full reviews and consider your own needs and preferences before making a purchasing decision. Chanel’s scent is made from natural essential oils, rather than the synthetic oils used in Lidl’s budget perfume, meaning it should last significantly longer on the skin. For me the most significant difference is the strength, certainly, yet SMG seems to have decent staying power on your skin, from what you say. Madame Glamour was the one I initially heard about, and it is clearly inspired by Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle.
