About this deal

High and low temperature settings give you versatility over your timings, while the keep warm function means seconds can be served up straight away and latecomers don’t have to miss out. Removing the need to sauté in a pan before transferring to the pot, the Sage Fast Slow Go is as useful for slow cooking converts as it is to experienced cooks. Functioning as both a slow cooker and a pressure cooker, it includes sensors at the top and bottom to monitor temperature. This makes inconsistently cooked stews a thing of the past. Designed to make meal planning easy, the digital timer can be set from 30 minutes to twenty hours, with an LED display counting down the time – and if you’re not quite ready when your food is, an automatic keep-warm function will make sure it doesn’t go cold. I started by making bolognese sauce, first searing the meat on the hob. Despite the dish claiming to be compatible with induction cookers, it wouldn’t work on my hob, possibly a result of the ferrous plate of the dish being too small. Those with older hobs that require a certain diameter of pan may struggle to use it.

The Russell Hobbs Good to Go Multicooker is a true multi-tasker. Armed with a variety of capabilities, you can make sure that your meat is cooked just right before you cut it open, or fill up a water bath for succulent sous vide fish or veggies. This digital slow cooker comes with a removable control dial on its front control panel, which has pre-set modes for steaming and stewing as well as high and low manual temperature levels. There is also a keep warm mode. Slow cookers with digital controls may also have a delay start, which is ideal if you’re out of the house for more than eight hours. This means you can start cooking at a time to suit you – while it’s hard to overcook recipes with a lot of liquid, this gives more freedom with dishes that could potentially start to dry out. A timer is another handy feature – this will either turn the machine off after cooking or put it into a limited time keep warm mode. Most ceramic coated cookware are usually made of metal (mainly aluminum) with a layer of ceramic-coating. Generally, Ceramic coatings are derived from inorganic minerals, mainly oxygen and silicon. In this article, we will talk about an improved version of ceramic coating called ‘ DuraCeramic’. Next, I used the slow cooker to make rice pudding. After greasing the bowl I added rice, sugar, butter and milk and set to cook on high heat. After three hours, the rice pudding was perfectly cooked: the rice was tender, the sauce was rich and creamy, and there were no burnt bits or dry rice grains. The creamy rice pudding was at a hot, but not scalding, serving temperature, and the whole process had been entirely fuss-free compared to making it on the hob. As the elements in the DuraCeramic are inorganic, ceramic coated cookware can withstand extremely high temperatures of up 450 C (842 F). In comparison, Teflon coatings tend to deteriorate after reaching 260 C (500 F). Is DuraCeramic Safe?Suitable for all hob types, including induction hobs, this impressive unit allows you to prepare casseroles, curries, chillis, soups, pot roasts, and even desserts – simply choose the low, high, or keep–warm setting to best suit your creation. After cooking, the removable pot can be taken straight to the table for serving, and if you have leftovers, it can be stored in the fridge or freezer. What’s more, the unique hinged lid means no condensation on your worktop, no lost lids, and even makes serving easier too! Features and Benefits Slow cookers are also brilliant for less-than-confident cooks, easily creating all those meals that seem a bit scary on the hob. That’s because slow cooking develops the flavours of food for richer, tastier results. It’s not just dinners that slow cookers excel at making either. They make great porridge, granola, stewed apples, bread and butter pudding, fudge and dips. You can use your slow cooker to melt chocolate, as a Bain-marie. How much should I spend on a slow cooker?

The CSC026 has three settings – high, low and warm. We filled it with two litres of water then tested each of the settings in turn. The controls are a little cluttered, but the illustrations make the Sage The Fast Slow Go easy to use and very clear. The lid his hinged, which we don't love, but it does mean the Sage The Fast Slow Go will transition easily between slow cooking and pressure cooking for a range of the cooking modes.

DuraCeramic Coating — What Is It Actually?

When testing these slow cookers we were keen to try out each of their main cooking settings, so while a more simple manual slow cooker was used to make a stew or simple curry, we pressure cooked meat and steamed fish in the more complex slow cookers on the market. When slow cookers came with digital settings we attempted delay-start recipes and tested how easy they were to use. It all boils down to your priorities. If you’re after a more environmentally safer and healthier way to cook your food (at higher temperatures), then choose a good, high-quality ceramic-coated cookware made by a reputed manufacturer. The FDA has strict requirements for all ceramic products sold in the US to be cadmium and lead-free So, always buy ceramic coated products sold in the US by reputable companies to be safe. Final Words

According to ceramic manufacturers, ceramic coated pans, waffle irons, and other products do not produce any hazardous fumes even if they are heated beyond 450 degrees. This isn’t the case with Teflon coated cookware. Ceramic coated products also don’t even break down at extreme heat, which makes it safe for humans. If you know me at all you know I like to keep my countertops clutter-free, but on the other hand I need to have the tools I use frequently at hand to optimise efficiency. So, my best bet is to try and strike a balance. DuraCeramic is developed by Belgian cookware manufacturer Oster. The company claims that this unique and innovative ceramic coating is four times more resilient than conventional Teflon coated surfaces. It also won’t peel or flake with extended use. DuraCeramic is also PFOA and PTFE free, the company claims. The main reason I upgraded to this model was that my older one was a little worse for wear after using it countless, countless times, and I wanted to opt for a non-toxic material when it came to the pot itself. Aesthetics & build You can place the cooking pot in the dishwasher or wash by hand fairly easily. The Ninja Foodi Multi-Cooker also has a basket insert and can be used to air fry other treats when not in use as a slow cooker. Is this the future of slow cooking? We think so. Ceramic coating doesn’t peel or break down at high temperatures and doesn’t emit any toxic fumes. While cooking at normal temperatures, say under 500 degrees, they are a much better alternative than Teflon (PTFE) coated pan.
