About this deal

I feel bad giving this such a harsh review, but I have to say my piece: the main character is so focused on being as much of an antisocial edgelord as he possibly can be, it overshadows the gruesomeness of the entire plot. I’m not saying I needed him to feel guilty or be less of a “monster”, I just needed him to stop devoting his entire life to impressing 14-year-old white boys on reddit.

It’s a writer at the top of his game having fun at the audience’s expense and I love him for it! It’s like the AC/DC Ultimately, Dead Inside encourages readers to think critically about their own beliefs while offering insight into the strengths and weaknesses of both spiritual and secular perspectives. Conclusion Maybe this book is for someone, but I couldn't say who that is. I'd skip it and read the aforementioned Woom if you want a gross out book that at least has some good characterization and writing. Even the ending, with an interesting plot twist, was a solid way to end this strange book. Just like in those SAW movies, Morrison left the absolute worst for last and my goodness, it’s beyond demented. I was curious as to how all this would end and even I didn’t see that coming to the point where yeah, you finish it and are left wondering what the hell you just read. It’s a feeling that’s hard to explain but let’s just say, you feel guilty for reading this and will want to read a book to cleanse yourself because it’s that grimy and obscenely sexual.

Well currently, I'm a meta-parody of myself, and I think it would be funnier if I was a chain smoking review who…"

Morrison’s focus on personal growth and transformation through introspection allows for a deep exploration of characters, their relationships, and motivations. Chandler Morrison’s works have been met with both critical acclaim and reader reactions, as his writing style is noted for its emotional depth and insight into mental health topics. His work is praised for being analytical yet engaging, as it speaks to the subconscious desire for liberation in its audience. It’s a dark story about a lot of things, but most importantly it’s about Los Angeles and the role it plays in the evil that men do. It’s filled to the brim with actual Human Shaped Fiends that rape, torture, kill, drink heavily and partake in drugs. Consider this your goddamn trigger warning. This story is short being a novella and totally entertaining. We follow an unnamed narrator as he goes about explaining and indulging in his unconventional proclivities and then he meets a girl...thus the story begins, but rest assured, this is unlike any love story you've ever come across. This is a nightmare made tangible both to the protagonist and the reader.Don’t try to make sense of it, just read and watch where it takes you. I looked away numerous times saying in my head no way did I just read that because of how disgusting this book is. Yeah, it’s really… really graphic, bad, and deranged. We're not doing that. That's not meta. This joke is becoming less meta and more of like signs of insanity." The hospital is quiet at night. Television gives the impression that large medical facilities are always bustling with frantic activity. That’s either a blatant untruth, concocted for the sake of dramatic set pieces, or Preston Druse Charity Hospital is an anomaly to which that particular rule does not apply. I don’t know. I don’t care. All I care about is the fact that thishospital, come nightfall, lowers its voice to a hushed murmur, permeated by the barely noticeable chirps of uncaring vitality monitors, the sparse staff’s whispered conversations, and the occasional steady sighs of a breathing machine. The halls are all but empty, excepting a few nurses’ stations and, sometimes, a skulking doctor frowning down at a clipboard.

I want to touch a little bit on why this book didn’t work for me. The interludes. Wow, did they throw me off. I feel like these breaks really didn’t do anything for the story other than disturb my reading experience. I really hate bashing on how an author writes/formats their books, it’s their art after all, and who am I to say anything about it? But I feel like if it weren’t for those breaks I would’ve really enjoyed this. Ass clenching and all. I always say take my review with a grain of salt because I'm in the minority with my rating. For most of the folks that I read this book with, this story really did it for them. But for me it was a big no. Another Splatter Western from Deaths Head Press completed, and I have to say...this one was definitely a strange one...strangest one I've read so far. What makes this addition to the Splatter Western series so unique, you might ask? Author Chandler Morrison has written himself into his own book and the outcome is pretty fantastic (Hurray for Meta-fiction)!This is exactly the way I like it. I am a harmless phantom, floating below the radar of perception, granting me a ghostly existence that permits me to freely engage in my unusual extracurriculars. Cannibalism and Necrophilia. Can't say i have ever read a book with the both in it. I've read books with cannibalism but I can't remember one with Necrophilia (and i'm fairly certain I 𝐖𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 remember that). Now I'm a woman of 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐲, 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐲 kinks but dead people. . . . Well that's where i draw the line. For some reason they don't do it for me. For Sex or Dinner. Go figure. 𝐍𝐨 𝐣𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐝𝐨.
