About this deal

The iconic artwork displays an eerie image of a warrior, representative of the band’s dark and heavy sound.

BLACK SABBATH Paranoid, first UK press, Vinyl Vertigo swirl

When I finally got it, ALL of the records had lots of scratches, so many that I asked for a replacement, sounded terrible. The sound quality is great too- blasting it through my NAD c316bee receiver and Dali Oberon 1’s is out of this world- Iommi’s guitar cuts through each track like a razor, and Butler’s bass lays down a very present bottom end to anchor the album. The strong lineup of songs, including classics like “War Pigs,” “Iron Man,” and the title track “Paranoid,” showcased the band’s creativity and innovation ( Brutally Honest Rock Album Reviews). Over time, “Paranoid” has been widely acknowledged as a seminal album in the development of heavy metal music. His full length debut on Daptone Records is equal parts raw feeling and elegance and exudes confidence and charm.Rhino reissues are indeed excellent, but watch out for the digitally sourced ones (MOR and Black Sabbath - cut by Ron McMaster at Capitol) as i dont think these sound that great. I have a 1985 German NEMS press that sounds fantastic and I got cheap, but I almost never play it cause of Evil Woman. the labels are the "Burbank" / palm tree version, and the B side has the correct credits for "Warning". These tracks, among others, have gone on to become some of the most iconic heavy metal songs in history.

Black Sabbath – Paranoid (1970, Gatefold, Vinyl) - Discogs

Listeners who appreciate the roots of heavy metal and appreciate the history of the genre will find immense value in this vinyl edition of Paranoid. In the 1960s, the hippie culture saw Birmingham become a vessel of musical activity, but it wasn't until Black Sabbath formed in 1968 that the city's overt bleakness motivated the birth of a thick and aggressive sound that reflected the reverberating cacophony of factories and steelworks. To view the purposes they believe they have legitimate interest for, or to object to this data processing use the vendor list link below.I compared it to a 71 LP pressing and sounds very good and I can hear more of the reverb in the mix, my LP might be a little warn as its over 5o years old but still in great shape.
