As you would imagine there is another murder or two that the three Dahlias take it upon themselves to solve. I read the first book and so understood the references to it but if you haven’t and just want to dive right in here then no problem either. The relationship between the three leading ladies (The Three Dahlias) is well observed, each bringing their different strengths to the investigation. I am unsure what happened there, I might need to re-read the last part of 'The Three Dahlias' as for the life of me I can't tell why Anton hates her now and she is left out of the movie. Posy is having to cope with the legacy of both the previous actresses and trying to make the role her own and I liked the way that this was a struggle for her.

I enjoyed the first book in the series and loved coming back to some of my favorite characters… I will be waiting with bated breath for the third installment. And this time, with a storm raging, the river flooded and the bridge washed out, there are no police to rely on so it’s up to the three Dahlias to stop a murderer in their tracks… before another victim is claimed. It taps into that love we have of the locked room mystery, and that well known detective that we love in all it’s reincarnations. It gave nostalgia, it gave golden era detective sleuthing, and it gave anything an Agatha Christie fan would enjoy. I couldn’t put the book down, I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who was the murderer before the shocking reveal.The story felt like a delicious puzzle to get stuck into and I found myself getting my notebook out to jot down ideas, very much like one of the characters in the book. This follow-up to The Three Dahlias finds our trio of actresses—Rosalind, Caro, and Posy, all past or present portrayers of the Golden Age detective Dahlia Lively—on the trail of another murderer.
