About this deal

Installing an at-home pull-up bar is easier than you think. We'll give you an idea of what to expect based on the mounting type, but, keep in mind that every bar is different, so it's important to read the instructions provided by manufacturers prior to installation. One downside: the steel construction only supports up to 330 pounds, which might be a little light for some users. The handles themselves were comfortable to grip and felt solid in the hand. Our performance was the same as on a regular Pull-Up Bar. Of course, to change the distance between your hands, you will have to move one or both of the clamps in its entirety. For extra-long reach, we decided to hang the Eleviia’s from two perpendicular doorways. This also didn’t create any instability despite there now being a force exerted at a 45-degree perpendicular angle. Advantages of Using the Duonamic Eleviia Portable Pull-Up Bar Even the best pullup bars don’t have to be complicated to be efficient. We found this bar simple and effective, making it a great choice for those looking for multiple grip positions when pounding out pullups. From wide to neutral to palms-facing for chinups, we love that this versatile design can do it all. We found the grippy foam handles to be actually non-slip safety and pretty comfortable, too. It mounts easily and securely to almost any door frame, but you can also take it down, flip it over, and put it on the floor to use the different grips for sit-ups, push-ups, and dips too.

Door-mounted pull-up bars mount either via pressure or screws. Pressure-mounted bars wedge against your doorframe to stay in place and are less likely to cause any damage to the doorframe or wall. Screw-mounted pull-up bars for doorframes are mounted into each side of the frame.Made of stainless steel with a powder-coated steel casing, the CrossGrips are rugged, durable and strong. The clamps are spring loaded and don’t need a lot of adjustment. This takes a little longer than the clamp design of the Eleviia but not by a whole lot. You have the advantage of an all-steel construction. The Duonamic Eleviia has two handle-types available: the classic pull-up bar grips and the Powrholds grips. For suspended core exercises and for pull ups, the classic grips are ideal. They are comfy, stable, easy to install and durable. At Men's Health, we take great pride in providing our readers with reliable and trustworthy product recommendations. We believe that our readers deserve the best, which is why we always make sure to conduct thorough research and testing before making any recommendations. Our writers and editors thoughtfully select experts for collaboration on product recommendations, and are also experts in their own right, using their informed opinions to select products and ensuring that our content is of the highest quality. Durability: We want a quality product for the price we pay. Moreover, durability directly ties in with the strength of the Door Pull Up Bar and says something about its safety too. A bit heavier than the Ryze-Ups, the Jayflex CrossGrips are probably the closest you’ll get to a traditional Door Mounted Pull-Up Bar without hauling an actual full-sized Pull-Up Bar with you. The CrossGrips are a set of what you could call miniature Pull-Up Bars working together to provide room for both of your hands.

Doorway Pull Up Bars: we recommend getting these if you are really strapped for space in your situation or need an inexpensive way to start doing Calisthenics. A “hidden” advantage of the Doorway Pull Up Bar is that you’re not limited to hanging them up high. They can also double as a dipping bar by placing them around waist height.

We use the term Door Pull Up Bar for any Pull Up Bar which uses a door as its mounting point. There are various other Pull Up Bars, like Free Standing Pull Up Bars, which do not have a mounting point at all and stand on their own. There are also Wall Mounted Pull Up Bars which you need to fix to a suitable wall. We’ve covered those in two previous articles, but today we’ll be looking at the ever-popular option for the room deprived and cash strapped enthusiasts who need a viable alternative, Door Pull Up Bars. You basically have three options at your disposal: a Door Frame Pull Up Bar, a Doorway Pull Up Bar or Door Frame Pull Up Handles. We’ll explain all of them and list their merits and disadvantages. Door Frame Pull Up Bar The handles feel very comfortable, better even than most foam-covered Pull-Up Bars. They are suspended by cords so your center of gravity will lean towards the center of the doorway. At first this may be a bit closer to the handles than you’re used too but it is very manageable. All regular Pull-Up Bar exercises like pull-ups and chin-ups, front levers and L-sits and even the German hang are possible. Since it is a portable device, we’re not looking into anything acrobatic but anything that can be done safely is of course another advantage. We will also be looking at comfort and of course, ease of carry and ease of installation. The last two should be a given seeing as it’s a portable Pull-Up Bar but we’ll see. How Does the Duonamic Eleviia Work?

The Duonamic Eleviia comes in a set of what are basically two clamps. With clever engineering, the two clamps clamp themselves around the doorframe and apply even pressuring when weight is suspended from them. For those wondering; it is mechanically impossible for them to slip off as long as any sort of weight is hanging from the grips. The only failure that could happen here is if either the hinge-point of the Pull-Up Bars themselves snap or if the suspension point (the doorframe) gives. They have an internal spring as well, which keeps the Duonamic Eleviia clamped shut naturally. This is how you use them: A Door Frame Pull Up Bar goes over the frame of a door. With either prongs or clamps, the Door Frame Pull Up Bar latches itself onto the door frame and remains shut. The best Door Frame Pull Up Bars are designed in such a way that the more weight that is put on the bar, the harder it clamps down onto the door frame. With proper use these are the safest Door Pull Up Bars and only if the door frame itself would suffer catastrophic failure could it come down. Door Frame Pull Up Bars are usually offset from the door, giving you enough room for a full chin-up without your face touching the door frame or the wall above the door. Doorway Pull Up BarAs the perfect, portable solution to doing your Pull Ups anywhere, you have the innovative Duonamic Eleviia. These Door Frame Pull Up Handles are the perfect addition or even stand-in for having a Pull Up Bar. For the basic Pull Up and Chin Up exercises, this Pull Up “bar” is more than sufficient. With a little more effort than with a normal bar, you can adjust the width of your grip by moving the clamps closer or further apart. It can be quite a challenge to maintain your workout routine while travelling. For a short time away from home it might not be a problem to skip a session or plan it on a different day. Maintaining discipline though is a problem for many (God knows it is for us) so even if you can’t do your full workout, it’s a nice feeling to at least be doing something. With the aid of a Travel Pull-Up Bar, you can do your Pull-Up exercises virtually anywhere you are. The most common thread is that you need a doorframe onto which you mount the Travel Pull-Up Bar. Duonamic design principles: easy to use, built to last, and eye catching aesthetics consistent with other Duonamic products.
