About this deal

It was such a pleasure to meet you both, and I really appreciated how smoothly and professionally you ran everything. In this inspiring, lyrical tale about the rewards of reading and sharing stories, a little girl sails her raft “across a sea of words” to arrive at the house of a small boy.

This delightful treasure hunt through children's literature will have you digging through your bookshelves, hunting for forgotten phrases and making room among the tomes for this book. The very clever pictures though are when a shape is formed just from pieces of text, such as a whole cave or a monster made up of lots of text printed on top of itself, a whole sea of words. Every one of its elements--the haunting prose poem executed in hand- lettered words; the pictures done in watercolor, pencil, and digital collage; and the objects built from words borrowed from classic stories--all work together toward a richly harmonious whole. Altogether, Bookwagon suggests that A Child of Books is a reading experience that merits being loved and shared. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.Yourself and Bob are much cherished in our booky world and I personally really appreciate everything that you do. This hardback book is an interesting read and will capture the hearts of many adults but I don't think many children will enjoy this without a lot of explanation.
