About this deal

Delivery timescales are based on working days; Public Holidays, Saturday's and Sunday's are NOT classed as working days. Depending on the manufacturer and the model, there may be slightly elasticated materialon the sides of the vest, under your arms, or there might be a ‘cinch system’of internal drawstrings. Both are designed to provide a snug fit around you. Flasks can also have a lighter weight than reservoirs. However, some tend to fall down or are hard to reach without a lot of work while on the move. Look for elastics to hold flasks in position even when they’re partially empty. Hydration vestscome in different volumes and sizes, so there is one for every runner:whether you're commuting 5-10 km into work or undertaking an adventurous 100-mileron technical trails. When the chest and tummy straps are fitted well, the hydration bottles or their pouches should lie vertical and not at too much of an angle.

The most common phone holder for running is the phone armband. It’s also the most affordable, lightweight and, arguably, the most convenient. Most of these fasten round the upper arm with velcro and are big enough to hold your phone, but not much else. The pouch is made from recycled water bottles and has an inner layer that is resistant to sweat, water, and rain, and insulated to protect the phone from battery drainage in cold weather. I had no issue with my phone getting damp on the run, and the pouch is machine washable, which is handy. Getting the right fit is key for any piece of gear, but especially for a running vest. When possible, head to your local running store and ask for a fitting. For online shopping, take the time to measure yourself and refer to sizing charts.Like all clothing and gear, the perfect running vest depends on your body shape, and your needs. There is no one “most comfortable” vest, since what fits our testers well might not fit your body as well. But look for something that fits tightly, with no bouncing or rubbing. If you’re in the mountains, are there any opportunities to fill up water from natural sources? Just make sure to bring a water filter or some way to treat water if so. Most brands offer gender-specific models. Some brands just offer a unisex fitting. Women’s-fit options tend to be a little narrower at the shoulders and have the ability to offer more volume in the chest area. The material for the Nike Armband is thinner and more comfortable than that used in some of the other running phone holders on this list. It doesn't feel heavy or bulky on your arm, and can easily be adjusted when you’re wearing layers in colder conditions. When thinking about how much water you need, consider if you will have any opportunities to refill. If you’re running a race, how many aid stations are there? How long is the furthest distance between them? It’s not worth bringing too much more water than you need, since that will just weigh you down. However, it’s a fine line to run since water is a necessity while on the move. All applicable customs and import duties and any other charges are the responsibility of the customer. It also has one of the lowest profiles of phone holders on test, and while out running, I barely even noticed it.You also want to consider whether you want room to carry any extras on the run with you, such as a lip balm, credit card, or house keys. If you do, you might need a little more space. This is a no-frills armband — it holds your phone, and that’s about it. I liked that it fit both my cell phone and my phone case, and found that getting the phone in and out of the Tribe Armband was easy and that my phone felt secure in the holder. There are two different armband sizes, nine and 16 inches, to accommodate runners of all sizes. The Lifeproof range includes a car mount, a bike mount, and a belt clip, making this super handy if you’ve already got, or you’re shopping for, one of the other products in the range. Once you’re set-up, the running phone holder is extremely straightforward. It's just an armband that you can clip your phone onto. It’s super lightweight and easy to run with. As the armband attaches to your phone case, there is no plastic covering over your phone, making it the best phone holder for using your phone while running. Of course, your phone isn’t protected from the weather, but if your smartphone is water-resistant, this shouldn’t be a problem.

Jessica is an experienced fitness writer with a passion for running. Her love for keeping fit and fueling her body with healthy and enjoyable food quite naturally led her to write about all things fitness and health-related. If she isn’t out testing the latest fitness products such as the latest running shoe or yoga mat for reviewing then she can be found writing news and features on the best ways to build strength, active aging, female health, and anything in between. Before then she had a small stint writing in local news, has also written for Runners World UK (print and digital), and gained experience with global content marketing agency, Cedar Communications. We do wish that the light thread also illuminated a bit on the front of the vest, as it is also important to be noticed by oncoming traffic — but bright reflective strips on the shoulder straps provide adequate visibility. Trekking pole attachments:If you like running with poles, it’s great to have a way to stash them if you get tired of using them, or get to a section of trail you don’t need them. To gain an understanding of the capabilities of each running phone holder on this list, we went on several different runs wearing them. We tried phone holders that could accommodate phones, with and without a protective case. We looked for little things, such as how easy it was to get the phone in and out of the holder on the run, the size of the armband, the price, and the extras. Many armbands have a holder to keep headphone wires out of the way, but we tested all of the phone holders using wireless running headphones. How should you carry your phone during a marathon? The clear plastic on the front of the phone holder is thin enough to allow you to control music or pause your running app while moving. Washing the Nike Armband is also simple, and during testing, I found washing it on the cold setting on my washing machine and air drying the phone holder worked well — the phone holder didn’t shrink or bobble in the wash. Like with shoes, the fit is so individual, so don’t be put off trying a few different models and sizes to attain that elusive perfect fit. Also, like shoes, a rave review for vest ‘A’, or worn and promoted by some megastar, may not be the one that fits your own body shape best. Many runners prefer one hydration method or the other, while others use both. However you choose to hydrate, you just need to make sure to bring enough water for your run.
