About this deal
Recently diagnosed with autism along with her three children,Christines message to parents and carers to help them talkwith their children about neurodiversity is the perfect way to introducethe subject to any child. Then I was introduced to LISTENING to UNDERSTAND and it changed the way I am in conversations, lots of the time (not all the time, I am still very much practising). I shared this with some Y3 children, and it opened up great discussions about how everyone is different and how that doesn't matter.

Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH).I have learned that when the conversation no longer feels ‘right’ for me, whether it’s a topic or an attitude or a tone of voice, I can choose whether or not to stay in the conversation. I might not like gritty sand or scratchy labels, busy places or messy tables, but with … a quiet walk …a gentle smile …and some time alone for a little while … I can be amazingly me – just like you.
As a teenager Emily always felt she was very different and because of that she kept her voice to herself because she didn’t know how to express who she was. Learning to appreciate, affirm and celebrate who we are and our uniqueness is a powerful gift that every child needs and deserves. Through these practices, we can build a solid self-loving foundation upon which we can develop loving and respectful relationships.I subsequently worked in Industry specialising in communications, relationships and people development.
