About this deal

Alcoholism is a recurring theme in Bukowski’s work, and many of his characters are heavy drinkers who confront the destructive consequences of addiction on their lives and relationships. The curious thing is that the name of the rapist (cant tell you now, I have the book somewhere else) appears on another story, one about Bukowski sharing for a couple days a flat with a fat lady in the French quarter of New Orleans, the rapist himself was the one who introduced Bukowski to the lady, so I guess there must be "something" behind.

I don't know if there's some kinda connection between Martin Blanchard and Joe Blanchard, or it's just Bukowski who recycled the name. Hope and Defiance: Despite the despair and disillusionment present in many of his stories, Bukowski’s writing also possesses an undercurrent of hope and defiance, celebrating the beauty that can be found in life’s most difficult moments. It looked like every single story was the epilogue of a book that includes drinking, cheating and every known vice.

He came to the United States with his parents when he was three years old and spent his early years in poverty. Se ha comparado a Bukowski con Henry Miller y Hemingway, con Céline y Artaud, con Charlie Parker y W. I said I've been reading his works for several weeks , but I've only mentioned Factotum and Tales of Madness. Many characters in the collection come from working-class backgrounds, struggling to make a living and find meaning in their lives. These characters often struggle with poverty, addiction, and loneliness, reflecting Bukowski’s own experiences and observations.Plague journals, escapist literature, political history: explore our year in review, where we share rare book trends and a gallery of some of the most beautiful and interesting books sold in 2020. Danish and Norwegian are more similar than Danish and Swedish or Norwegian and Swedish, because Swedish have some words you won't find in Danish and Norwegian, so it is a tad more difficult to understand. That Bukowski used the name Martin in another story, does'nt (necessarily) mean it's the same person in both stories.
