About this deal

This translates into light entering the lens through this sparkly filter, then hitting the sensor, delivering a bit of shimmer and glow to whatever you photograph.

If you are unable to reach us by phone or it is outside of business hours, please submit a support ticket at https://tiffen. For example, see my Moment Cinebloom Review, it has a soft diffusion effect, but not the glimmer effect that produces some really nice looks. I see a lot of photographers and videographers using the Glimmer Glass filter under their studio lighting conditions or for vlogging outside, for this use-case the filter is great. One thing you might notice from the samples is that it’s not as immediately obvious that I’m using diffusion filters compared to some of the other diffusion filters I’ve reviewed. When viewed from the subject's perspective, the filter appears to be sparkling and helps instill confidence in models, resulting in a potentially better performance. It first starts with specular highlights, which are extra details brought out by adding in extra light to a scene.

I've worked with a half dozen rental houses in London over the past 5 years but I didn't know what I was missing until I started hiring from Shoot Blue.It also produces glowing highlights and a mild reduction in contrast for a more ethereal appearance. However, if you’re in an environment where the filter can catch a lot of glare, it will give you more reflections that can get really distracting, so you may want to consider other options in these conditions. Responding to the demands of cinematographers, Tiffen’s new Black Glimmerglass® filters aid cinematographers in taking the hard crisp edge off the images that modern digital lenses and cameras can produce, especially with 4K sensors.

Tiffen Glimmer Glass 1 is the least extreme filter, it gives a small amount of bloom and pulls down highlight contrast slightly, but shadows seems to be the same.

But, I personally like using the two filters in these two different situations, Glimmer Glass for day, Black Pro Mist for night – with street photography anyway. Consenting to these technologies will allow us to process data such as browsing behavior or unique IDs on this site. While they all diffuse light, they are not all the same and do it in their own way and the use-case will vary pretty significantly. Also, the Black Pro Mist filter is another great option at night as it produces a diffusion look, but it tends to keep the diffusion more localized to the light source so it produces more halo-like effects. I can think of a few Tarantino movies like Inglorious Bastards, but my mind and heart drift to scenes from The Dark Knight, Saving Private Ryan, and the Lord of the Rings.
