I fell so hard for Elisabeth and Nathaniel in Sorcery of Thorns, and this little companion story only confirms why that was so incredibly right of me. The stakes are low in comparison to the world ending threat of the Archon, but the banter, the romance and a sumptuous ball are exactly what I wanted.

When we left off in Sorcery, the two were off to a happy start—aside from some hesitation on Elisabeth's end, we didn't see them grapple with the usual emotions in a romance.The manor has its own stubborn and hilarious personality, and it's funny to see it interact with Elisabeth especially. Elisabeth and Nathaniel are simply adorable together, they tease each other and are authentic, and they also have each other’s back no matter what. Without taking her eyes from the door, Elisabeth reached down, took him by the arm, and lifted him to his feet. Admittedly, I do have a special love for this kind of novella, the one that comes after full-length novels.

The plot is secondary in this novella, it’s all about cuteness, funny moments, and an overall heartwarming feeling. This novella is set a few months after the end of Sorcery of Thorns and we are once again following Elisabeth and Nathaniel as they settle into their new lives with each other. It is not included in promotions available to our main range products, as stated in our terms of service. even though he's a demon mostly incapable of real feelings, he's still able to show that he does care about the people around him, which is amazing. Elisabeth is just a really good character and i really hope we continue to see more adventures with her and this crew (and demonslayer)!Within these pages you will find magical secrets, temperamental grimoires, evil pajamas, a dancing lesson, and my favorite kissing scene I’ve ever written. Their relationship it’s just so cute with the teasing and the way they support each other no matter what. I tried to reread before jumping into this book, but I really did not have the attention span or motivation to read it again. Mysteries takes place about two months after Sorcery's epilogue and is a cozy, romantic comfort read that reveals previously untold secrets about the world and characters. This is a book I'm going to reach for time and time again when the world feels like too much and I need to be wrapped in a cozy hug by these pages.

I laughed so hard and so often throughout this short little book, because his wit absolutely shines here. I remember loving it despite not really liking Margaret Rogerson’s debut, so I was excited to hear that she was coming out with a sequel novella. No spoilers, but the ending leaves things open with Silas and I’m hoping this means even more tales in this beloved setting to settle old scores. Mysteries of Thorn Manor' is the follow-up novella to 'Sorcery of Thorns' and while I realize I've spoiled a bit of book one for myself, admittedly I'm even more eager to read it than I. I loved reading about him only being a servant and friend without any problems he has to figure out, it's what he deserves. Personally I love Sorcery's open ending and hadn't planned to revisit the story—but as you can probably guess by the novella's premise, Covid isolation gave me other ideas. Honestly, if, through some godsend miracle, Margaret Rogerson publishes another novella or full-length novel - I would definitely not hate that - I would love to explore their relationship some more, maybe how they'll be and what they'll be doing together years from now. I’m gonna be honest, before I started reading this, I didn’t really remember much from the previous book so I did have to read a couple summaries I found online, but after I started remembering who the characters were and what had happened, I was so happy to be back into this world.She might never know who had written the dedication, or how long ago, or to whom, but she could briefly clasp hands with them across eternity, a chance meeting of souls made possible by their shared love of a story.
