About this deal

Obviously they dont have every plugin on the planet done but you can have your own maps created for when you open up x plugin. Eventually, after resetting the P1 using the ‘nkupdate’ application, uninstalling the drivers and then reinstalling, things suddenly sprang into life. That said, the unit packs a lot of controls into a stylish-looking device and does so for a relatively low cost. But it's also very light and rather cheap so no biggie and I don't think it's a problem in the sense that it'd break, just that it feels a bit cheap.

These discounts are usually communicated through newsletters, which are created and managed by us with the tool "Emarsys". You may find that one setting works better than another under certain lighting conditions or viewing angles. If you're using either Reason or Cubase and you need a MIDI controller then I would definitely recommend a Panorama. The dedicated communication protocol ties Panorama and your DAW tightly together so all you have to do is select the mode and menu you want to control. If you then switch to control a compressor plug-in, that same encoder might switch to control a threshold parameter. The included Quick Start manual covers the very basic operation of the P1 as well as installation, while the necessary drivers are available from Nektar’s web site. As I mentioned, I didn't even have to look at my computer screen to do this because all the relevant information was displayed on the Panorama itself.

Because Panorama controllers can act independently of one another, this allows you to create some really cool set-ups. Perhaps the only other (minor) downside is that the black gloss surface does show fingerprints; keep the included soft duster to hand. Obviously I would not be able to use it in the Apollo Console with a P1, which is a bit of a bummer but not a deal breaker.Let's imagine that in this scenario, the first fixed fader is controlling our track 1 level, which we set at 0dB. I imagine that most people will use the pads to trigger samples and perform percussive parts in an MPC-sampler kind of way and so these people will be extremely happy to learn that setting up your pads is quick and easy.
