If you want better dark room performance, go with the Samsung because it can produce much deeper blacks.As the recommended overdrive setting is 'Standard', you won't have to adjust the overdrive setting if the frame rate of your game drops. While the Samsung has a local dimming feature, which the LG doesn't have, it performs terribly and doesn't offer any advantages.
The joystick also gives quick access to the brightness/sharpness/contrast options, the input selection menu and the volume control which is handy.
