This router provides a great alternative for an internet connection via 4G, when paired with an unlimited data SIM. The B535 WebBox can get up to 64 devices online at once, which is more than most people should need. As for software, this isn’t something you’ll likely be interacting with much, but the Huawei B535 WebBox does have a simple web interface, allowing you to configure settings and read messages – as there’s no display, you have to access this from an external device. If you get a much better 4G signal and better download and upload speeds then you can install an outdoor 4G antenna. One feature worth noting is the four Ethernet ports on the back of the Huawei B535, which let you provide a wired connection to up to four devices.
If I was being charitable, I suppose I might wonder whether part of the problem is the way EE are using IPv6 (and perhaps the B535 simply doesn't implement 464XLAT, or at least doesn't do so in a way that enables an IPv4 connection to be made on EE 4G). It may be that my attempts to get IPv6 to work better from the USG have been barking up completely the wrong tree. While 5G is obviously faster, this is arguably the best 4G home broadband option available from a major network. It clearly works to the extent of being able to ping6 (when ssh'ed into the USG) to an IPv6 address, but 'ping6 google.But I’d still like to have a stab at getting it to work the way I want it to (if only because I’d rather not through in the towel quite yet!
