About this deal

The Highball tumbler from the CIBI collection, is an handcrafted crystal glass perfect for long drinks and juices.

The Blade Runner whisky glass is made from hand blown crystal glass by Arnolfo di Cambio, the original Italian company who has been making them since 1974. Personally, I don't mind a smaller glass; I just hope that the logo comes off with some solvent or other. Blade Runner is a movie that almost overloads the senses with its amazing scenery, script, and concept. When one mentions Blade Runner, countless scenes and lines from the film that have gone down in history recur in the memory, one of which is surely that of Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) investigating the Replicants of the Tyrell Corporation drinking whiskey in the Double Old Fashion glass. The wild and iconic animal decorations of the Roberto Cavalli Home Luxury Tableware collection express the bold essence of the brand, produced and distributed by Arnolfo di Cambio.

Ridley Scott selected the iconic CIBI Double Old Fashioned Whisky Glass to feature in the original Blade Runner movie, having been struck by its stylish, futuristic and striking design. The neutral buoyancy sinks slowly aiding simple recapture of the magnet and will not plummet to the bottom of the tank if it is knocked off, causing potential damage to delicate corals. Mark Jessen studied English at Brigham Young University, completing a double emphasis in creative writing and professional writing/editing. The CIBI collection is characterized by the X-shaped body, which not only gives movement but also allows an easy and firm grip. Until the glasses showed up in several scenes of the movie the next year, with Deckard sipping Johnny Walker Black out of the tumbler.

Later, Cini Boeri began working with Marco Zanuso, becoming one of the most important Italian designers of the second half of the 20th century. I previously mentioned these Blade Runner whisky glasses in my light-hearted article Perfect Pairings, and it achieved a large amount of hits so I thought that I would try and discover more about these ‘Cibi’ glasses. In 1973, she designed the Cibi Collection for Arnolfo di Cambio, a range which included this distinctive piece.Designed by the famous Italian designer Cini Boeri, the CIBI collection is characterized by the X-shaped body, which not only gives movement but also allows an easy and firm grip. Why not get yourself a bottle of this classic whisky costs and relive the film in your own home in the most authentic way as possible! Ridley and others loved the bottle so much that they wanted a few copies made for production so about a dozen vacuum-formed copies were made. The following year the movie Blade Runner, Ridley Scott’s visionary masterpiece, was released in cinemas.

The exact ‘CIBI’ glass tumbler design that Deckard (Harrison Ford) is seen drinking whiskey from in his LA Apartment in the dystopian SciFi Blade Runner (1982) – and also in Blade Runner 2049. It has received some very good reviews and looks set to become a modern classic, but we’re not concerned with that. The original glass was made by Arnolfo di Cambio, and now the tumbler is available for you to add to your collection.

The company thought nothing of the purchase until the next year when Blade Runner was released and several scenes showed Ford’s Deckard drinking Johnny Walker Black out of the Double Old Fashioned Glass. The Blade Runner glass is the double old fashioned glass from the Cibi collection, designed by Cini Boeri and made by Arnolfo di Cambio, makers of Italian handmade crystal since 1963. Originally designed by Cini Beori, an Italian designer and architect, in 1973, the glass was crafted in Tuscany. If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. The glass was designed by renowned Italian designer Cini Boeri in 1973, and is produced by Arnolfo di Cambio, one of Italy’s most respected glass makers.
