You wouldn’t think a book of this length would feel like it took hardly any time to read, but the creative world building captured my attention from the start, and the combination of interesting characters and a perfectly paced plot held it throughout, so that the hours of reading melted away unnoticed.

So, the demon in his head is the daughter of the king demon and she loves to tell him how all the humans are going to burn and be eaten and all this jazz. People treating him like trash all his life because of a lie someone told, but he looks like he will rollover, and sacrifice himself like an idiot for them in the end. The loin cloth is Steel Legion Drab, Agrax Earthshade wash and Zandri Dust with a Morghast Bone highlight. As you can read from the book description the main character ends with a demon lurking in his soul and as a result his magical abilities grow at an extremely rapid pace and it's executed very well.

I do have to say a few things don't make sense and come way too abruptly, and while it is easy disgard it due to how good the book is overall, I do feel it necessary to address. Locked in a vicious cycle of love and deceit, Kaleah begins to question everything she thought she knew. One powerful thought somehow transported us away from a river of lava and into a land of icy winds and devastation.

If you are a fresh face in fantasy, you may enjoy this, but to me it comes across as recycled, and not in a fun way. But, really, there are enough unique and fun things about this book I didn’t care if the magic was basic.Though the pics might not catch it quite right, I love this red Halfords zenith over a TTCombat Spectre Black primer. There are other cities of course, that don’t live in trees, but Shal Gara, where this takes place, does. Despite being advertised by the Authors as a progression fantasy novel, this most definitely is not that. Haidak’s father, Sage Baran is an advisor to the Matriarch and the nobleman responsible for the Terelta family’s fall from grace. She has so much room to grow, and I love how strong she remains even though no one believes her about the assassins.

He is sure he was meant for more than a lifetime of drudgery, working to support every aspect of Shal Gara’s existence. You can tell that the authors made it a priority to come up with a magic system that is both bold and takes chances but also fits within the world seamlessly and with the characters who wield it. The blackest parts got a coat of Flesheater Red Contrast Paint and all the flesh got a Mephiston Red dry brush. As I mentioned before, the pacing of the book is great, which is a considerable feat considering just how long it is.Bit of Mephiston Red highlighting and a tidy up on the armour above the wings and she’s good to go… Probably to go do bad. Ok, I was going to do the obligatory introductory paragraph where I tell you that Demon's Reign is the new collaborative tale written by David Estes and Ben Galley, and how it's about a culture that lives in a giant tree, but I decided to skip all that bumpf and just tell you that I friggin love this book.
