About this deal

Even if you don’t, this book is full of longing, unfulfilled promises and so much potential love and steam, that it’s a great book for everybody. She never listened either and the hypocrisy of her going on about communication when she was constantly shutting Theo out. The story got frustrating at times with the lack of communication between Theo and Blake but I’m guessing that was intentional. Even when she transferred to the college, he wasn’t so nice to her, and told her she wanted wanted there. I had an instant like for Blake when she was briefly introduced in Don’t Let Me Fall, and was so excited to read her and Theo’s story. I love the brothers best friend trope, and almost want to rate this higher because it had that trope, but no, you want that trope, there’s so many other books that’s better. I really enjoyed the first book and loved what we saw of Blakelys character so was really keen to read it. She wasn’t as much of a badass as the first book lead us to believe and whilst I appreciate these are college kids it was a little immature for my tastes.Let's start at the end, shall we because for some unknown reason the epilogue just got me all tered up like a lunatic and it was all full of happy cozy feels. Being able to be open and honest to someone is never easy, especially when you don’t feel like you are being heard.

Blake is a child, at times i thought ok, she's maybe on her way to handling stuff like a badass but it just kept coming back to the same conclusion.Theo had me smiling and ready to knock him in the face but then smiling right after with his crazy love declarations. The fact that he could have had such a good redemption arc by TALKING to Blake about the offers, and they chose not to do that, because of the “grand gesture” at the end. You'll feel their vulnerability, and insecurity, they are double-guessing each other, and both live in a tumultuous state since Blake is his best friend's little sister and he grew up with her. Sucked me right in from the beginning, I didn’t read Ash/ Colt’s story, Blakely is Colt’s sister and she transferred to his collage to study sports medicine and help the team.

As with a number of other books out there, the great alpha-male (hockey great) potentially loses his long-time love interest (his best friend’s little sister) because of a bet… about who on the college hockey team can take her v-card.

and then shes like, ‘why cant he tell me he loves me’ or ‘why cant he hold me’ theo is scared and he has anxiety bc he cant lose you and when you lose your shit in an instant doesnt make anything better. Everything was set up to be epic, even the narration and then freaking Blake and her childish attitude. Theo and Blakely have a history, a past that keeps on pulling them apart, until its miscommunication and some pretty dumb moves. Their relationship was far from perfection still i loved their bond, it was so strong since they both harbored their feelings from childhood . I truly couldn’t put this book down and thought every twist and turn kept me HOOKED the entire time.

As a new adult romance, much of the earlier chapters concentrated heavily on college life with house parties and drinking games and probably could have been trimmed to get to the heart of the story. This brought kind of a fresh feel to the "im in love with my brother's best friend" Troupe and was dual POV.

College romances are often full of drama and intense emotion coupled with miscommunication or the total lack of it, misunderstandings, uncertainty and lacking in self-confidence.
