About this deal

When the brothers inquire into how Johnny Naples fits into all of this, Snape tells them that he was a quack doctor living in La Paz, with a run-down practice in the city's backstreets.

In the midst of finding some scientific words scrawled in rough English on some scraps of paper, a grenade is hurled into the room and the hotel is destroyed. Falcon’s Malteser is ideal for family groups, children from 8 upwards especially boys, if you enjoy children’s theatre with style, an intelligent script and excellent acting. The title relates to the book because the book is about the a box of Maltesers and the title is the falcon's malteser, "I doubt if you can fit five million dollars worth inside. They are both tied up and left in a locked room but Lauren frees herself, revealing she was once an Escapologist's assistant.

This was a brilliant success on a car journey to France with 8 year old son, and daughters 20 and 18. They may be friendly and trustworthy at the start but some might get nasty so you have to carefully trust people.I really liked this plot as it had a lot of detail and description and it was an action and adventure story, which is my favourite genre. Back in the flat the following day, Nick is visited by the Professor, one of Snape's suspects, who offers Nick half the Falcon's money if he gives him the Maltesers. Nick leaves the hotel owner hanging over the flyover and leaves the hotel, not knowing what happened to him and not really caring. The next day – after going to the cinema to see 101 Dalmatians – they find their flat turned over by someone during the day.

Although I wouldn't say this one was the best on in the series (I know what you did last Wednesday was the best one), it was definitely worth the read and I recommend it to anyone. Although they may not get the references to Sam Spade and other 30s crime fiction, most of the humor in the novel can be found in clever word-play and outlandish situations and so definitely stands the test of time. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Snape – who could not stand Herbert during his service there – apparently forms a grudging respect for Nick when he realises how smart he is for his age. One of the joys of Twitter, incidentally, is that it allows readers to contact me directly and these 140-character exchanges are as valuable to me as what the professional critics have to say.

In The Diamond Brothers in… The French Confection (2002), the Diamond Brothers win a trip to Paris thanks to a French strawberry yoghurt, but accidentally get caught up in a drug smuggling ring and end up being forced to team up with the Sûreté to take them down. Four of Diamonds (2008): Similar to Three of Diamonds, but also includes The Greek Who Stole Christmas. If you go into the novel expecting something special you will be greatly disappointed, however if you're looking for something quick and entertaining to read on a Sunday afternoon I would highly recommend it. In fact I wrote my first book when I was ten, stuck in a miserable, north London boarding school where reading and telling stories were my only lifeline. Herbert suggests sending Nick to Australia or to Auntie Maurie in Slough, who has a semi-detached house, and a semi-detached hip, and often forces Nick to give her round the clock nursing. This title was also mentioned in a promotional blurb at the end of early 2005 edition of the Alex Rider novel Ark Angel, and again in the introduction to the re-issued 2007 edition of Three of Diamonds. A film adaptation based on the first novel The Falcon's Malteser was released in 1988 and it was entitled Just Ask for Diamond. Snape then tells Herbert he is a suspect, mainly because they were found with Naples dying, in his hotel room, just moments after a gunshot rang out – and Herbert was holding the gun that had killed the dwarf. This began with two Sherlock Holmes continuation novels, The House of Silk and Moriarty, followed by my entry into the world of James Bond with Trigger Mortis.
