I did find it quite boring really (a word I never thought I would use to describe a Jacqueline Wilson book! Enjoyable story except for the ending of each chapter which was a shameless plug for Jacqueline Wilson's other books. Perhaps this is more of a 2 star read, but I loved the fact that Wilson narrated it; she has a delightful enthusiasm.As well as winning many awards for her books, including the Children's Book of the Year, Jacqueline is a former Children's Laureate, and in 2008 she was appointed a Dame. I Have only read one of her other books, but I think I can still say that this book is very true to her fictional style. Jacqueline Wilson is THE author to go to when looking for a good book for young girls although to be honest her old stuff is a lot more interesting and meaning compared to the new. All in all I really understand why Jacqueline Wilson is the most borrowed author in the libraries of Britain. Saw parts of myself in the author and it meant that I no longer felt quite so alone and odd - there were other dreamy bookworm types out there, girls terrible at maths, girls teased by teachers.
