Erica Moen combines a series of 2-3 page comic strips reviewing sex toys, providing handy manuals to various sex acts and supporting discourse on general topics of sex positivity. While this is the third volume in the series, each book is written as a standalone so you can pick up and start reading anywhere.

They review sex toys, share sex education, interview sex workers, and crack horrible, horrible puns, all in the name of promoting sex positivity.Way better than the first book, because Erika and Matthew (and their guest creators) go way beyond simple reviews of toys and content and way more into sex education topics. Occasionally there’s a product whose use is exclusively designed for those possessing a penis, at which point Erika’s husband Matthew Nolan supplies his thoughts. There are plenty of non-sexual, sex-related topics covered and if I had to teach my theoretical child about something I have no experience with, say a UTI, Oh Joy Sex Toy is where I would go first.

Is it ridiculous or obvious to suggest the world would be a happier place if more people were honest about both their enjoyment of sex, and their sexual preferences?As a white man, I see myself in most things; my bisexuality would isolate me a little but even that has become more mainstream. The creators of the wildly popular and educational web-comic Oh Joy Sex Toy have brought together some of their best comics and some new ones that cover all of the basics when it comes to sex, intimacy and consent. It's honest and real and welcoming and so incredibly important, and I'm honestly just so thankful to Erika and Matt for creating this comic and putting it online so that people can have it in their lives.

Obviously, this isn't something that prudes will feel comfortable whipping out to read on the bus, but I'd honestly recommend it for anyone who has sex.

This volume collects the second year's worth of content from the weekly comic Oh Joy Sex Toy, covering all kinds of sex topics in the form of toy reviews, education pieces, interviews and more. My Aussies who are looking to grab one of these beauties for themselves (Aus link), you might get a black remote like the one I drew in the comic instead of a white one on the box cover. It’s always one of my favorite parts of the weekly Oh Joy Sex Toy comics and it is no different in Drawn to Sex: The Basics . Either Moen and Nolan appear in every comic, talking the reader through the topic and giving the sense of recurring characters to the series while allowing the diverse maturbateers to show you how it’s done. I can tell you when I first read it in college, I started to see myself, or rather the community I wanted to see myself a part of, in these comics.

It’s not always obvious to notice, but these comics have been split apart into nice re-postable comic pages – we just use fancy html to hide the excess – but all the pages are there on the page. Some of the stand out comics in this issue provided information on how to make good homemade porn, foreskins, HPV, vaginismus, swinger's parties, how porn is made and a review of the book Girl Sex 101, which is the only comic that I remember from when I used to read OJST online, and directly influenced my purchase of that book.

If it's a groupie nickname, I think a less accusatory one like 'sex fiends' or something would have sufficed. comics by Erika Moen about sex, sex toy reviews, sexuality, sex education, safer sex practices, interviews with sex industry workers. The book ends around page 200 or so, but never fear, there are other featured artists for another 100 pages. I really think they should make a sex ed book that focuses on things like diseases and the public service announcements for how people have sex. Personally, when I’m with a partner, it’s the magnificent, intimate energy that defines the experience.
