Long Shot drained every bit of moisture from my eyes, and just when I thought I had none left, a torrent would occur again, each drop falling from heartache and deceit, but also from healing and newness. I won't even claim him as mine because I know there's no one else who would be worthy of Iris' love than August. I finished this story with tears in my eyes and even after a few days I find myself thinking about this story. The harrowing brutality of Iris's story left me torn between not being able to put it down and wanting to take a break.As you progress in the story you will see that kennedy doesn't hide the ugliness of an abusive relationship at all. Well, if not for all of the reasons above, you will certainly find out for yourself within a few minutes of reading it.

And August is a standup guy and understands, until he realizes the next night at his game that Iris is dating his childhood nemesis.It's a hard truth and an eye opening novel about true love and spirit juxtaposed against true evil and hardship.

At the time of reading it I let it go thinking that we would get those happy times to even it all out, but sadly I don't feel like I got enough to justify it all. Kennedy Ryan does not shy away from showcasing what it means to be in an abusive relationship, both physical and emotional. It’s been days since I finished reading this book and I still have NO IDEA how to put coherent words down. As you progress in the story you will see that kennedy doesn’t hide the ugliness of an abusive relationship at all. Their chemistry was cosmic in nature, capturing the universe in its grasp and making the skies light up each time they crashed into each other with explosive force.This story is one that will stay with me forever and I truly cannot wait to experience the next standalone which will happily be about one of the supporting cast members. this book was very heavy and i wanna really stress that in my review so you guys know to read the triggers before reading this book. Long Shot is an book that is going toward the top of my favorites for 2018 and that I recommend to all. I knew there was light at the other end of the tunnel and it was worth it to go through all this violence to get it. Iris finds herself trapped in a relationship with a young baby to take care of, but neither of them can forget the other.
