You’ll be able to look straight into the reflection of the light much easier under normal conditions (the best way to visually locate RIDS). If there is one attack in the game that needs hyper armor, it's the charge attack of Twinblades or make the charge up time much faster, because as it stands right now, the charge attack is objectivly unusable pve and pvp wise. Using the Brinkmann Swirl Finder Light is pretty straightforward but here's a few tips to get the best results when exposing swirls. It can light your everything quickly and also suitable for light candle jars, gas stovetops, BBQ grill, camping, fireworks and so on. Drop - "Impassable Greatbridge" waypoint, contrary to its name, if You'd pass the bridge and went straight right, seek a Heavy Knight that wields this shield (looks a little like a half crescent moon).
The Xenon flashlight seems to be better suited at finding heavy swirls and Random Isolated Deep Scratches. Just about everyone that saw Mike demonstrate this light during the classes wanted to take one home so Max brought them in so everyone can inspect their paint just like Mike shows in the classroom. Also worth noting that the offhand chain is worse (slower) than the mainhand chain in spite of them looking very similar, which is unfortunate. I'm aware you can use shields to attack, hell even do a shields-only run, but to list here their offensive properties only rather than their defensive properties is clearly pointless.
