Dorgard listens for a continuous sound and will verify the alarm over a 20 second period and then release the fire door. They provide greatly enhanced physical strength and security constantly - each time the door is closed and locked.

Dorgard SmartSound is great at understanding the difference between your fire alarm and general noise and cannot be activated by vacuum cleaners, washing machines, loud voices or other common background noises.

The fire door should have a separate controlled door closer fitted prior to the retainer being installed. Also check that the Dorgard SmartSound is installed on the side of the door that closes into the door frame.

It also acts as a security measure, as when the doors are open you can always see who’s coming into the building. Before drilling holes or fastening screws, check the location of water pipes, electrical points and gas pipes. Dorgard SmartSound will then repeat the amount of beeps to confirm how many hours you have selected. It is not triggered by ambient sounds, ensuring that fire doors remain open when needed but will close when the fire alarm sounds.
