I literally filled the heater channels on my beetle with Waxoyl when I finished it in 1994 and they are still good 20 years on, despite being repro panels. dynax S-50 has been used with superb results to protect voids and cavities in steel boats, vessels, off shore installations and other steel structures subject to severely corrosive atmospheres. With the arches looking alot cleaner, I then removed the wheel arch liner so I could clean and get the Dynax S50 in those hidden places.

if your crossmemember is already rusty then you really ought to do something about the rust, Dynax will help protect it, but it's not a cure.

I have used Dynax UC on my wheel arch lips and sills, I really like how it just makes the panel look Matt/satin and isn't obvious, although over time if under the car is does start to look abit dirty. Unlike traditional paints and coatings these molecules are not bothered by corrosion products and so do not fail when applied to pre-rusted surfaces. Solvents cause carrying waxes to evaporate quicker, and in some cases, carry the product away from the areas that it is supposed to treat and preserve. It’s common for manufacturers of cavity waxes to quote salt-spray results in hours for their cavity waxes and while the salt-spray test is severe it’s been shown that waxes with very good salt-spray performance can rapidly deteriorate when the environment changes, for example after a period of constant salt-spray they swell become bloated and detach from the surface in an atmosphere of high humidity alone.
