Updated graphics ensure star players are instantly recognisable on the pitch, while gameplay changes introduce the trademark moves of the world’s top stars into the mix. Its not just the on-pitch action thats been improved though, as the new career mode ensures the most comprehensive player manager simulation ever seen in a sports game. This area of the game has the most to offer and anyone who has played FIFA games in the past will recognise this aspect of the game.this mode should be the award winning section of the DS version of FIFA 06 but unfortunately it just doesn’t seem to make any sense. The career of 5 seasons and the option to create your own team and play them in any of the given modes allows this game to having a good lasting appeal similar to the other FIFA games on consoles. The objectives it gives for each season are a great addition and give you something realistic to aim for on the higher difficulty settings (to be honest playing this game on the easy difficulty is going to be far to easy for anyone). The squad never resets itself, this is very frustrating as every game you have to rearrange your squad. If the funds have not yet been merged, you will have the option to do so during the purchase process.

Plus, a variety of different types of goals, including elevated and mini nets - take challenges to a different level. Use the Touch Screen to plan and save up to four customised free kick and corner kick strategies, then select one of them at a pivotal point in the game. I found them added to the back of the Premier League so I imagine they are added to the league that you pick your favourite team from. This mode gives you the chance to play through a regular season including league games and cup games with all the usually rules.It really looks like a real FIFA game with players - although not really that recognizable as individuals - looking like real people. Real Madrid's Kaka will deliver crisp, creative passes, Barcelona's Andres Iniesta will utilize tighter turns and close control to dribble through defenses, Manchester United's Wayne Rooney will hold off defenders and strike shots from distance with pace, and top-flight defenders like Giorgio Chiellini of Juventus will anticipate, predict and react to offensive players to win back possession.

Despite the shortfalls in the game mainly due to some bugs and limited memory on the DS card the game plays well and feels like a finished product. While my dad is well into the 360 version and even my mum is having a crack at the Wii game with my younger brother, I'm happy to stick with the DS game for sheer portability. FIFA 06 for the DS is clearly designed for the DS and isn’t a poor port of any other previous FIFA games. Title Holders: The best gets better with a whole new game engine and dozens of new features including saveable highlights and custom soundtracks - and even your own crowd chants. Expect to play crisp, creative passes with Kaka or leave defences dumbfounded with Andres Iniesta under your control.Personality+ Animations — More varied and realistic animations will bring an added level of authenticity. Advanced Goalkeeper Awareness— Goalkeepers are now more aware of their surroundings and react more intelligently to each threat. Your attacking will be improved by smarter player runs and improved passing physics, giving you more options.
