However the author shed light on mental health and loss in a way that took my breath away (in a good way). I wish she would have gone to NYC and have a long distance relationship with Hunter and after he had grovelled, come back and stay. I understand that that was his coping mechanism and how he chose to grieve but it doesn't not excuse the fact that his actions were fucking stupid and dangerous and fucking selfish. Like yea I get that your mom died but why are his family/friends normalizing the fact that he goes to the bar every single day and also don’t speak up when he drives drunks every day even though a DRUNK DRIVER was the reason the mom died?

the MMC is a massive tool still fucking around with other women more than 50% thru the book and the FMC just stands there and takes it like a lil bitch. I think most of us take life for granted, think it’s out to get us when it takes people away from us for good. He was pretty rude to her for a majority of the book and it made it seem like she didn’t even care that he was acting that way towards her. Randolph questions Lane about what she’s been up to, and she tearfully nearly confesses to her poor treatment of patients.She gives up EVERYTHING for a man who was cruel to her and just hours before was fucking other women. Fast forward to a couple of weeks Marley proves to Hunter that she isn’t the brat her thought her out to be. This book is about Marley who shows up outside of Hunter’s house after her car breaks down and after she ended her relationship with her boyfriend. I feel like by doing it so often it would make it seem like nothing had developed between the characters.

I’m sorry but I was really excited for this book and I was so happy when I finally found out it came out but reading it really let me down. I don't care if he is still grieving or whatever, putting your life AND other's lives in danger is not right. My only problem with Marley is that she be chasing all these shit men that treat her like shit and then be running away. Hunter was supposedly working for him, but he never made any rules to try and prevent Hunter from drinking, or tried to help his son.The food is not only totally Instagram worthy, it's almost too beautiful to eat and there is so much of it!

Also Marley’s marketing skills were so GREAT that she was able to help the Lane family open multiple businesses in like less than 2 months HAHAHAH How realistic. This has been a highly anticipated read of mine since I stumbled upon Marie- France and her teasers that left everyone wanting and boy did she serve! Sorry to the real life Hunter Lane, but your friend portrayed you so incredibly poorly that I don’t want to be within 50 feet of you. He treats her like a dog but does not allow, from day one, any other man to approach her or go out with her.
