About this deal

I know what it is like to love a survivor and I can relate to how their families felt about their stories being told.

Just like Heather Morris' other works this is also well-written, you get sucked in and before you know it you have read 50 pages in an afternoon! This is one of those epic storylines that really does show how one moment in time can change so many lives! For the most of it, I found I was slumped over my kindle, looking forward to reaching the conclusion.

The novel recounts the sisters’ work assignments—such as literally building the Birkenau camp block by block—illnesses, interactions with guards and kapos, and brushes with death. Their incredible survival, their arrival to and settlement in Israel, and their thriving ‘tribe’, are all evidence of their victory. Several years later, their beloved father is dead, but the promise they made to him continues to live on. Finished the book on a six hour flight travelling back home from being on holiday and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

When I’ve read books about the Holocaust, I find myself reading in disbelief because it is still so hard to believe that these atrocities happened and did so in the recent past, yet there is no doubt they did.

When they are girls, Cibi, Magda and Livia make a promise to their father - that they will stay together, no matter what.

It was interesting that we also got to see their lives after they were freed because the discrimination in Germany and Slovakia continued long after the Nazis regime ended. Concluding The Tattooist of Auschwitz trilogy with the fictionalised account of real-life siblings held in the notorious death camp, Three Sisters follows its protagonists from wartime Poland to Communist Slovakia and beyond. This is the story of three sisters and how they coped with the horrors they witnessed in the camps during WW2 and their fight and determination to survive. This book is incredible, the story-line so epic I don’t think I’ve ever come across one like this before. The Kennedy sisters, Molly, Alex and Sam have a Christmas tradition - a night out, just the three of them, sisters together.Their fight for survival takes them from the hell of Auschwitz, to a death march across war-torn Europe and eventually home to Slovakia, now under iron Communist rule.

They must find a way to endure the nightmare, the horrifying conditions, the sickness, watching others being forced to walk to their death. While the author did a good job telling the true story of these sisters, it failed to offer a fresh perspective on this time in our history.Note that while Morris’ three novels are presented as a trilogy, they are essentially standalone books.
