About this deal

A good formulation with skin strengthening / protecting ingredients, especially good for dehydrated skin (lacking water, rather than lacking oil). My skin is still adjusting to the new treatment and feels quite dry at the moment so this cream is just perfect.

It has more of a traditional sunscreen feel to it – think Nivea and Garnier but without the fragrance and denatured alcohol. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. It’s a solid white stuff that’s very alkaline and used in small amounts to adjust the pH of the product and make it just right. She also has extensive clinical knowledge from working in various settings, including community pharmacy, palliative care, and online pharmacy.

It contains two forms of hyaluronic acid – hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid and sodium hyaluronate – both of which help the skin retain moisture. Ceramides make up 50% of the goopy stuff that's between our skin cells and play a super important role in having a healthy skin barrier and keeping the skin hydrated. My skin has never been better than while using my personalized Dermatica treatment, and I'm so happy! I am a fan of this moisturiser because it’s light, absorbs well into my skin and leaves it feeling soft and hydrated.

It is oil-soluble which means it is more likely to penetrate the skin compared to the pure form of vitamin C (which is water-soluble), but it is less bio-available and is way less effective in stimulating collagen and reducing wrinkles compared to the pure form of vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid) and its other derivatives (for example, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate). I would highly recommend Dermatica to anyone who cares about looking their best for as long as possible. As far as skincare goes, sodium hyaluronate and hyaluronic acid are pretty much the same and the two names are used interchangeably.

What seems to be a true difference, though, is that the salt form is more stable, easier to formulate and cheaper so it pops up more often on the ingredient lists.

It is excellent for acne-prone skin and safe to use even if you have fungi-related skin issues, like seborrhea or fungal acne.

With over seven years' experience working across a diverse array of disciplines, Liyya completed a postgraduate diploma in dermatology in clinical practice in 2018.

But you can also use these as stand-alone products too, you don’t need a Dermatica subscription to get involved! If you’re using topical medication for your acne, you shouldn’t also use products that contain glycolic or salicylic acid — mixing them can cause excessive dryness. An extremely common multitasker ingredient that gives your skin a nice soft feel (emollient) and gives body to creams and lotions. It’s rare that hormonal acne is a sign of an imbalance or health problem, although sometimes it could be an indicator of abnormal hormone levels caused by underlying conditions (such as polycystic ovary syndrome). We've tracked 47,193 product ingredient INCI lists and these are the products with the most number of similar ingredients. It doesn’t contain comedogenic ingredients and is also pH neutral, so it shouldn’t cause any irritation or interfere with the skin’s barrier function.
