Beautiful art with a wonderful story and endorsed by David Bowie whom, it’s safe to say, knew a thing or 2 about art. The color is absolutely gorgeous, the vinyl is almost perfectly flat, and the mastering is as good as it should be : clean and quiet. The exact wording is “We’ll be re-releasing the Hounds of Love album in special presentations of vinyl and CD later in the year. Even under contemporaneous scrutiny, both parts, replete with layered electronic instrumentation, sound effects, and expressive yet refined vocal acrobatics, successfully cohere, and, if persevered with, the full measure still holds up and works incredibly well despite its ambitious structure.

Bush weaves intricate tapestries of sound and imagery with songs that span the range of all emotion, from the most intimate to the most frightening. The site says that “the best way to charge this solar panel is in bright sunlight (but not with the vinyl LP, it might warp! Should it have been on a 2 vinyl set, perhaps a limited a run of 45 rpm would have been nice, but actually the sound is excellent and I don't really think you want four sides, it's a lot of flipping disks, especially side 2, as flipping half way would be intrusive to the ninth wave IMO. Inside The Boxes of Lost at Sea are two vinyl records, described as “UV print on a side without grooves, on white vinyl. Many have grumbled about the Big Sky swap - maybe the album master tape is no longer available (or damaged) or maybe Kate really prefers the single mix - either way it doesn't sit well as the initial vocals are lower in the mix, so the whole track seems a lot quieter than its surroundings.

I know that some Bush fans will argue Kate isn't pop, and is more alternative/art-rock/avant-garde and whatnot. Inside the gatefold is a LED light (“little light…shining”) which doesn’t require batteries since it’s powered via a solar panel on the rear of the product! Do not put the solar panel closer then 10 cm from an artificial light source as this could cause heat damage to the solar panel. And yes, my system is set up correctly, and not suffering from the issues I’m having with this pressing). I want to see those ones sell like crazy so that means people genuinely like her and not just the show.The album includes the lead single and number on hit ‘Running up that Hill’, and also other hit singles such as ‘Cloudbusting’ and ‘Hounds of Love’. I hope people genuinely get into her and listen to the kick inside, the dreaming, never for ever, etc and not just hounds of love purely because it's now stranger things merchandise. The Dreaming will be the second in the series of illustrated editions, also illustrated by Timorous Beasties. There is way too much sibilance on this release - and that really isn’t acceptable, given there are adequate methods to minimise inherent faults in the original master.
