About this deal

The only problem is that it does jam, especially if your darts are a little worn, and it got worse as the batteries got older. Just behind the accessory rail is a hatch secured with a slide catch, which is for dealing with potential jams. Kids can take aim with the Nerf N-Strike Elite HyperFire blaster and challenge opponents with ultimate speed! If you fire it flat, the range is still around 50ft/15m, and they are much more predictable, which means the useful range is better than pretty much any other unmodified blaster. I had heard about canted flwyheels, but didn't know what that meant until your pics; thanks for that.

The belt has tabs that grip the darts, pulls them from the drum and holds them in place until you are ready to fire. It advertises a firing range of up to ninety feet (twenty-seven meters), and a rate of fire of up to five darts per second.Unpacking the Hyperfire you will find, the blaster itself, a 25 round drum and 25 darts to feed into the drum. This conveyor system has a faster rate of fire than a pusher mechanism; despite this, it is known to jam on old, worn darts if there is not enough grip from the belt to drive the dart into the flywheels.

The other thing you notice is how much quieter and smoother it is than the older full-auto blasters too. Blaster was abit dirty though, due to sticky fingers and pen marks but nothing that 20 minuets of scrubbing can solve. The handling is also excellent, in part thanks to the batteries pulling weight back towards the shoulder and balancing things out.

The Hyperfire has 20 screws in it's main body, the four in the conveyor belt do not need to be removed before disassembly. From there, it’s press one of the two triggers to get the Hyperfire ready, and press that firing trigger, then watch the darts fly…… Very easy set up, and very easy to use.

I found it was jamming way too often compared to other full-auto blasters – my thumb got very sore priming my Hammershot as I fiddled around trying to get it unjammed on numerous occasions. I have to admit to getting a very real satisfaction from shooting it myself, as the foam darts went ping, ping, ping against the wall. It's the fastest motorized Nerf dart blaster, unleashing 5 darts per second to rain down a deluge of darts onto targets! Nerf are definitely a big kid toy, and with our oldest being 22, they're a long-time firm favourite in our house. Your blaster arrives in a box which is large enough for storage afterwards, there's a pull out drawer and it takes very little time to remove.

This spinning action gives an effect similar to rifling in real fire-arms, giving you a tighter grouping and more predictable results.

Thankfully, it comes almost completely built, with only the dart chamber and the batteries to be inserted. You'll notice there are various points around to attach a strap - you'd welcome it if you were planning to carry it for any length of time. Without all of that nasty orange plastic in the way we can get a clear view of how the electrical system is layed out. However, the clever engineering folk over at NERF have also engineered a funky conveyor belt system. I trust people will be able to solve their misplaced piece syndrome with the above catalog, and the full disassembly will help users to properly paint their blasters.
