I'd like to think that if I had visited London as a child, I would have read this book beforehand to get myself hyped up! This picture book mingles fantasy with information most successfully… a lively introduction to some of the main London sights within the context of an appealing story…The text keeps up the pace of the story and includes a lot of convincing dialogue. In a city with so much exciting and interesting aspects, we should encourage our children to embrace it,, and this book presents an opportunity to do just that. Many of his books have a cultural agenda and James is passionate about introducing children to art, music, opera, ballet and traditional tales.It's been firmly in print ever since, recognised universally as the original and best introduction to art for children. It depicts all the famous London sights such as Trafalgar Square, St Paul's' Cathedral,The Tower of London, Tower Bridge, the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament.
