The Octonauts GUP-S Polar Exploration Vehicle comes with 3 AAA batteries, so it’s ready to play – huge thumbs up for this, as there is nothing worse than opening a new toy to find you don’t have the right batteries – cue disappointed children. It also has a cool icy blue light-up feature that is really strong, and looks great when played with under the table. The pieces are pretty strong and well made so it looks like it will withstand plenty of play and everything is very true to the TV series, from the sound effects to the look of the characters.

The boys loved pretending to rescue the Narwhal and putting him in the warming tank for safe keeping. Octonauts Gup-S polar exploration vehicle is designed to withstand the coldest of climates and be able to explore icy environments with ease. The Gup-S is a polar exploration vehicle which transforms into two different vehicles: the octo-sled and the octo-shuttle as you can easily detach the front to turn it into a separate octo-sled. It’s a great set with lots of features and plenty to keep them entertained and I’ve been pretty impressed with it. The treds which you can see at the bottom of the Gup-S in the picture below are moveable and can be positioned down like this, or folded up.The button also gives some Octonauts sound effects which are great, they include dialogue from the show in the characters voices and have quite a few varieties of phrases. My four year old loves it as it talks makes noises lights up and has lots of bits and bobs you can change, take off and adjust to how you would like it . Includes Gup-S, Barnacles in his snow suit, two mini-skis, three interchangeable tools, a narwhal and an iceberg. All the kids range from 4-6 have had a play with it also though you cannot put the whole thing in the bath you can take bits off that can go in the bath so it is a hit in this house.

Press the red Octo button on the side of the Exploration vehicle and the set illuminates and you can press through a number of different sound recordings. The Octonauts Gup-S Polar Exploration Vehicle works as one unit, but can also be split into an Octo Sled and Octo Shuttle. I have 3 Octonauts fans in this house – one of our most used toys is the Octonauts Gup-R set – so when we were offered the chance to take a look at the all new GUP-S Polar exploration vehicle, we jumped at the chance!All of these items are made from sturdy plastic including the Narwal – Monkey is convinced it’s Captain Barnacle’s old friend Boris – told you he was a fan of the show!
