About this deal

Sometimes the first book in a series can suffer from a bit of a slow start as the characters are introduced but I found The Secret Key got the balance just right, there are two relatively short chapters that introduce Agatha and then you’re thrown straight into the action and the adventure barely stops until you reach the conclusion. It’s been five weeks since I solved the case of the red slime that had polluted London’s water supply – and I’m itching to get going again. Together, they navigate the streets of London, decipher clues, and uncover a conspiracy involving the British Museum. Agatha Oddlow has been a detective for as long as she can remember - she's just been waiting for her first big case.

With a fun plot, and great characters it’s a fantastic adventurous mystery for younger children and a fun quick read for us adults! Then I walk over to the brick wall, where the familiar big cast-iron door is almost fully camouflaged.

As Agatha’s investigation continued and the stakes began to rise he begins to worry about her which I found quite sweet, I really liked the fact that when she needed him he was there. When I do, the reality of where I am crowds in on me – deep underground, and no one knows I’m here – and I have to slow my breathing and focus on my destination. The series begins with The Secret Key, where we meet Agatha Oddly, a thirteen-year-old girl living in London with her family. I am giving The Secret Key by Lena Jones five stars and recommending it to any middle grader to read.

I hate this passage to the network of tunnels that run under much of London, but it’s my nearest entrance. There's a World of books to choose from such as: Children's Books, Range includes Baby Books (0-3), Books for Toddlers (3-5), Early Readers (5-7), Childrens Story books (7-11), Young Teens (11-14), Young Adults (14-16) and Childrens Educational Books. My favourite character was probably Agatha Oddly herself but I also quite liked the other characters too.Our Non-Fiction Range includes: Academic, Photography, Audio books, Business, Cook Books, Craft Books, Health and Fitness Books, Mind, Body, Spirit (Tarot). Schoolgirl detectives Daisy Wells and Hazel Wong are at Daisy's home, Fallingford, for the holidays.

Things have been too quiet, with no cases to solve, so I haven’t been enjoying my summer holidays as much as usual. The books are well-written, engaging, and filled with plot twists and surprises that keep readers on the edge of their seats. There’s been a murder at the British Museum, and although the police are investigating, Agatha suspects that they’re missing a wider plot going on below London - a plot involving a disused Tube station, a huge fireworks display and 5,000 tonnes of gold bullion. Murder at the Museum: A second mystery for thirteen-year-old Agatha Oddly - a bold, determined heroine, and the star of this stylish new detective series. There's been a murder at the British Museum and, although the police are investigating, Agatha suspects that they're missing a wider plot going on below London - a plot involving a disused Tube station, a huge fireworks display, and five thousand tonnes of gold bullion. Agatha has grown up pretty independently and on occasion acts fairly rashly in her quest for answers, on a couple of occasions I found myself wondering why she thought something was a good idea, and then I remember I didn’t always make the smartest decisions when I was thirteen, and I must confess I probably still don’t! Together, Agatha and her best friend Liam Lau have set up the Oddlow Agency (no ‘detective’ in the title, to avoid annoying the headmaster).

Meet 13-year-old Agatha Oddly - a bold, determined heroine, and the star of a stylish new detective series.

Now you can join her on her first big mission, by flicking through the pages of new book Agatha Oddly: The Secret Key.
