This De'Longhi CTI4003 Distinta Flair Toaster 4-Slice Toaster cleverly combines futuristic and vintage design elements to make a truly iconic toaster. The back of the machine toasts slightly less than the front and sometimes one side of a slice turned out slightly browner than the other. The sophisticated matte metallic finish, with chrome-plated details, give Distinta collection an air of natural refinement.The styling is so overengineered that the controls look less like a toaster and more like the dashboard of a vintage car. On top of all that, it’s speedy, too, with a medium setting taking under two minutes to produce a beautifully browned piece of toast. As with previous De’Longhi models I’ve seen, it’s pretty large, even for a side-by-side, four-slice toaster, with it tapering outwards as it goes down. The toast itself was still tasty stuff, but I did notice that certain bites were less crispy than others.

The front is somewhat cluttered with controls, but it’s got more or less every feature you could wish for.

The only downside is the size, which we're happy to live with when we’re looking at such a great all-rounder.
