I think that if I alter the schedule in some way, I’ll start making excuses as to why I can put off doing one of the work outs, so I want to eliminate that risk before I even start! I used to do Jillian Michaels workouts in college, during the height of her Biggest Loser fame, and I remembered how frightening I found her back then; that was enough for me to devote 2,700 minutes to her. I’ve been hankering after this for a long time, and I’m so pleased that I finally got around to getting it.

I'm just starting workouts 11 and 12 so I'm coming to the end but I don't see this as a programme you put back on the shelf after 90 days - I fully intend starting again (probably from workouts 5 and 6) with slightly heavier weights and I will keep going until I can master all the moves. Even though I'd take measurements and see the numbers go down, and even though my clothes were fitting better, looking in the mirror each day I'd think, "I still look the same! As usual I was super sore from the workouts the first two days, (Once again, I woke up in the middle of the night in pain because I rolled over and my muscles were so sore from the workout! There are no ab only exercises such a crunches, Jillian seems to prefer engaging the core throughout the workout; utilizing plank type moves, etc. There are a few great things she says in between, which stayed with me after I’d finished sweating with her.

I also have to say that I am able to deal with the stress at work so much better right now, and I think it's due to the discipline I've been teaching myself through eating better and doing these workouts. You think it’s 30 minutes so it’s short but Jillian will make you work every minute of those 30 minutes. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. I’m sure Jillian, whose philosophy on working out skews old-school and body-negative, has done or said something offensive in the decade or so since I last befriended her, but if she did, I do not want to hear about it.

I hope I have as much success as you, especially in the waist/hip area as these are my problem areas too. I changed the cardio up with running, cycling, swimming and whatever other cardio I could think of to get me out of the house and also because some of the cardio stuff requires a little more room - it's hard to do effective suicide runs in a small room!

I actually find it more encouraging that going to a live class (where I have heard far worse language, and the DVD set is way less expensive than a crowded class). m. after I have woken up, remembered the circumstances of our current collective existence, frowned, stared at my phone for one to four hours, and absorbed the contents of the entire internet. When I was just starting college, I bought some of her discs for the first time to help me lose the last 25 lbs.

It has taken my knees almost a year to recover from doing that - i did it last summer for about 6 weeks. Even numbered workouts work the front of the body, odd numbered workouts concentrate on working the back of the body. The reason I was keen to try this particular programme is that it alternates muscle groups – something which Jillian’s other DVDs don’t do. They say that it is motivating, easy to follow along, and has an appropriate level of difficulty for someone with minimal experience. With this phase, I had to pause the video a bit to make changes while using the resistance band or rewind because the changes were so fast on the screen.I am doing Ripped in 30 starting tomorrow to take a break from Body Revolution, but I will for sure do the program again in the future. They also appreciate the instruction/inspiration details, saying that the DVD set is undoubtedly hard work. As I understand it, when you lift weights, you create tiny tears in your muscles, and it’s the rebuilding process, when your body repairs itself, that actually makes your muscles stronger. Both Karen and Gizelle are attempting to control the narrative of the back half of the season but from entirely different perspectives.
