About this deal

Al Rihla was the official FIFA World Cup 2022 ball. The name means ‘the journey’ in Arabic and the design has been inspired by the culture, architecture, iconic boats and flag of Qatar - the host nation. This new technology developed in close collaboration with FIFA and KINEXON, leaders in state-of-the-art sensor network and edge computing, enables the Video Match Officials to review live data for the first time by automatically providing very accurate information, 500 times per second, on when a player has touched the ball.

First is its CRT-CORE, described as "the heart of the ball, providing speed, accuracy and consistency for fast-paced action and precision, with maximal shape and air retention, as well as rebound accuracy." Then there is the SPEEDSHELL, which is "a textured PU skin with a new 20-piece panel shape, improving the accuracy, flight stability and swerve thanks to macro- and microtextures, plus surface debossing." The Superball Duplo T, the ball used at the 1950 FIFA World Cup, revolutionised the game adding air valves and the ability to regularise the air pressure in every ball used. When we had the launch of the factory in 2020, we had an overwhelming sense of pride. The factory has been immeasurable for us,” Dawami told Al Jazeera. We started our training with crossing exercises from various distances and angles to get warm and prepare in several different fundamentals of goalkeeping (spatial awareness, footwork, handling and distribution) while getting used to the flight and pace of the ball. The first ball, which was dubbed as the official ball for a FIFA World Cup was the Telstar from the Mexico 1970 FIFA World Cup.

The ball was designed for sustainability, being the first FIFA World Cup official match ball to be produced with environmentally-friendly inks and adhesives. [1] History [ edit ] The Al Rihla will be the latest in a long line of footballs used at FIFA World Cup over the years. In fact, match balls with brand names have been a part of the FIFA World Cup history since the tournament’s inception in 1930. The first FIFA World Cup: A tale of two halves, and balls Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has championed the export of the footballs, saying it gives the people of East Java a chance to “become part of the world’s economic resonance”. OH: When it comes to the panel shape configuration it’s really the most prominent feature of the ball. And as you can see when looking at the ball there’s something that we haven’t talked about yet and it’s that pearlised coating on it, so when you just look at the white ball, it’s already a beauty in my eyes.

Al Rihla is the first World Cup ball in the 92-year history of the tournament which will directly contribute to raising funds to positively impact lives across the world, with 1% of Al Rihla ’ s net sales contributed going to the Common Goal movement.Under the hood, the construction – the panels are distinctive.
