About this deal

It is unclear how many of the 1996 Japanese Pokemon cards were printed. By examining the population reports, I have found that only roughly the same amount as the 1999 1st edition cards have been submitted to PSA for grading so far. Meaning the print run could be considerably lower than most collectors realize. Card Details Beyond just its collectability, Charizard V Star‘s premium competitive viability makes it a card that players also covet. Its ability to dish out 320 damage for just 2 Energy via the Star Blaze VSTAR Power gives it major late-game KO potential. Passion Over Profit: The world of Pokémon card investing is thrilling, but always remember the golden rule: Collect what genuinely resonates with you and only spend within your means. The joy of the hobby comes first! Great question! This is exactly the kind of assessment you should be making before investing in a Charizard card. Generally speaking, older Charizard cards (1995-2003) are rare and valuable as they are many years out of print. However, card condition plays a massive role. Grading companies help with this by assessing the state of the card out of 10. The better the condition, the rarer the card. They also have ‘population reports’ which tell you how many cards have achieved a particular grade ( example here). Again, this is really useful for understanding how rare a Charizard card is. For more information about grading see here. Whether you’re a serious collector or simply looking for a valuable piece of Pokémon history, the 1999 1st edition shadowless holo Charizard is an exceptional choice. Even if you’re on a budget, the prices for mint 9 versions have increased along with virtually every other grade. So, don’t hesitate; if you’ve been considering adding this iconic card to your collection, now might be the perfect time to make your move.

PSA has graded 1,002 of the Charizard Prism cards with 87 grading gem mint 10. That is just .08% of the total cards graded, which proves how challenging these cards are to find in gem mint or near-perfect condition. It’s hard to create a list of the most valuable Charizard cards, and not include every variant of Base Set! So of course, we must include the Unlimited Base Set Charizard. Charizard V/VSTAR - Too bad that the energy cost is yet too expensive, even the stadium won't help it. But still, it's a Charizard and a super rare card might be the most expensive. 3/3-4 The set boasts an impressive collection of reprints from earlier editions and boasts a whopping 375 cards in its master set, making it one of the most expansive Pokémon sets to date.

Sealed Product Offers Shots at the 1 in 450 Odds

To date, PSA has expertly evaluated and graded a total of 658 English Staff Charizard holos. Among these, 92 secured the esteemed gem mint 10 designation, 409 were rated as mint 9, while the remaining cards were assessed at PSA 8 or lower. As you may know, after 1st Edition, and before the Unlimited Base Set print run came Shadowless Pokemon cards. Although not quite as valuable as 1st Edition, because Shadowless cards were only printed for a short time, they are highly sought after too. Most Pokémon card collectors are familiar with the words shadowless and 1st edition, and when they see a Charizard with one or the other, they know it’s valuable. This will spread more and more across other collectible Pokémon cards, increasing their value. As you can see, Charizard V Star‘s pull rate of just 0.2% makes it over 10X rarer than your average Brilliant Stars Ultra Rare! Even crazier, its pull rate is estimated to be less than half that of the also-valuable Alternate Art Charizard V. High Graded Charizard V Stars Fetch Massive Auction Sales Pokémon XY Charizard Staff Prerelease cards were given to a limited number of distributors that held prerelease XY events in 2016. The cards with the Staff stamp were intended to be given to the staff members or judges who helped run the event. They weren’t all Charizards, though.

The 1996 Japanese base set was always considered to have only one print run until recently. These newly discovered (no rarity) cards are the first print run of the Japanese base set, the first Pokemon cards ever printed. Many fans fondly remember the original Base Set art of young Charmander evolving into Charmeleon and finally mighty Charizard. This journey captured the spirit of family, growth, and pursuing your full potential.Let’s take a closer look at the PSA Population Report. Surprisingly, PSA has examined just 1,822 of these Fire Red Leaf Green Charizard holos. Among these, only 220 have earned the coveted gem mint 10 grade, and 513 are in mint 9 condition. This dual rarity factor highlights that these cards are both challenging to come by and challenging to secure top grades for. What are they worth? The PSA population report plays a pivotal role in assessing its value. Out of the 4,216 1st Edition Holo Charizard cards, only 124 have achieved the coveted PSA gem mint 10 grade. This rarity factor sets it apart, with less than a 0.03% chance of obtaining a PSA 10 grade. This scarcity is unparalleled in comparison to other sets. Investment Potential

Initially, Bandai created vending machines to distribute cards as collectibles. But, as the popularity of Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh grew, they eventually made the cards playable in a game. The first Carddass card was released in 1988 and was based on the Saint Seiya anime series. Card Details In line with past traditions, The Pokémon Company hosted events in conjunction with the release of the 2019 Team-Up set. These events featured specially crafted Staff cards, which were exclusively distributed to participants. Four Pokémon staff prelease cards were given out, including Mewtwo, Blastoise, Machamp, and Charizard. Stores were given just one of the four, with Charizard being the most valuable. Population Report When it comes to Pokemon cards, my motto is ‘collect what you love’. If you’re not a big fan of the character (or the price tags), then I’d recommend against going down this path. If however, you like the character, enjoy the artworks and potentially want something as an investment piece too, then collecting Charizard cards is worth it. Just remember though, card rarity and condition is very important in terms of value. Get clued up before investing heavily. How can you tell if a Charizard card is rare? Interestingly, at the time of writing, only 54 copies of the Shadowless Charizard exist in a PSA 10, compared to 120 in 1st Edition. As you would expect, this makes them incredibly valuable and a wonderful investment piece for any collector. 1999 Shadowless Charizard PSA Population ReportWe’ll discuss why the cards are so valuable, digging into their PSA population reports and other interesting factors that contribute to their rarity. On the base set shadowless, you’ll notice the 1st edition logo is gone. It doesn’t seem like much of a difference to the beginner, but for the die-hard collector, it’s a different card. Furthermore, having no shadow on any Pokémon card makes it more collectible than with shadow. Investment Potential Get It Graded: If you believe you have a valuable Charizard card, submit it to PSA. A high grade can significantly increase its value and desirability in the market.
