About this deal

The Mini 3 Pro has a much-improved camera in comparison to its predecessor. While it isn’t able to offer the gloriously rich 10-bit footage you can capture with larger drones, it’s certainly the best we’ve seen so far from a sub-250g model, and super-impressive considering the tiny size of the camera module. To that end, it comes with a whole host of updates and new features that set it apart from its predecessor, the Mini 2, including a much-improved camera and a three-way sensing system to prevent crashes.

Recharge the battery to bring it out of hibernation.

Longer Flight Time, Enhanced Collision Protection

The new Intelligent Flight battery has a slightly higher capacity of 2453 mAh than its Mini 2 counterpart. This has a positive effect on the flight time, because with 34 minutes, the Mini drone is one of the long-flyers in the Mavic camp. Only the much more expensive flagship Mavic 3 flies longer, namely 46 minutes. Unfortunately, the battery does not have an integrated charging indicator. To know the status, you first have to insert the battery and press the main switch on the drone. Only then will the LEDs on the top of the drone show the charge status. The enhanced obstacle detection also offers more flight safety. The predecessor Mini 2 can only detect obstacles below the drone. The Mini 3 Pro, on the other hand, also controls the area in front of and behind the drone. Remote Control with Integrated Display Smart RTH is initiated either by tapping the RTH icon at the left side of the screen or by pressing and holding the RTH button on the remote controller. When used with the DJI 30W USB-C charger, the battery charging hub can fully charge one battery in approximately 56 minutes and one Intelligent Flight Battery Plus in approximately 78 minutes. After the battery is fully charged, the corresponding LEDs will change to solid green. The battery can be disconnected from the charging hub when charging is complete. APAS 4.0 is not available while recording4K/48fps, 4K/50fps, 4K/60fps, 2.7K/48fps, 2.7K/50fps, 2.7K/60fps, and 1080p/120fpsvideo.

The max flight speed is subject to local restrictions that may change. Please abide by local laws and regulations when flying.

Fortunately, intelligent flight batteries, unlike the LiPo batteries of FPV drones, come with LEDs that display the battery level. Take a look at the following graph: LED Display Insert the batteries into the charging hub, connect the USB-C charger or PD fast charger to the USB-C port of the charging hub, and the Status LEDs in an array blink successively. The battery can be fully charged in about 1 hours and 22 minutes when used with the DJI 18W Charger. After the battery is fully charged, the corresponding LEDs will change to solid green. The battery can be disconnected from the charging hub when charging is complete. Low-temperature settings lead to a decreased battery capacity, which lowers speed resistance performance.

There are two ways that you can charge your DJI Mini 3 Pro battery: 1. Charging the DJI Mini 3 Pro Battery through the New Two-Way Charging Hub In the Camera View of the DJI Fly app, tap “...” in the top right corner to enter the Control interface, and then tap “Re-pair to Aircraft (Link)”. This is the standard unit labeled to describe the electrical capacity in terms of the storage limitation of a given battery. Note that the battery can be charged without being removed from the drone. If you would like to install or remove the battery from the drone, please see below:Insert the batteries into the charging hub, connect the USB charger or PD fast charger to the USB-C port of the charging hub, and the Status LEDs in an array blink successively. In the onset, it will be supplying the highest current until the battery has a level of around 85 percent. Flying in severely cold weather, 14° F to 41° F (-10° to 5° C), drastically reduces battery capacity. Before starting your drone’s operation, hover still for a bit to heat the batteries and prepare it for whatever task you have in mind.

Other common PD fast chargers can be used, such as Apple USB-C Power Adapter or Android GaN charger. It is the same as powering on: Press the Power button once, and then press and hold it for 2 s until the battery level LEDs light off and a warning tone is played, which indicates that the remote controller is powered off successfully. The battery can be fully charged in about 1 hours and 36 minutes by used with the DJI 65W Portable Charger. After the battery is fully charged, the corresponding LEDs will change to solid green. The battery can be disconnected from the charging hub when charging is complete. DJI RC does not come with the internal storage, but can be equipped with a microSD card. After a memory card is installed, you can use the product for capturing photos/videos, keeping cache files, and recording screen. With the new Intelligent Flight Flight batteries included with the DJI Mini 3 Pro, DJI has slightly improved not only the flight times of the aircraft but also the time required to fully charge them. Standard BatteryThe battery can be fully charged in about 3 hours and 30 minutes with a maximum charging power of 10W. Connect the battery to the charger, and the Battery Level LEDs in an array blink successively. The charging time for one battery is approximately 50 minutes. After the battery is fully charged, the four Battery Level LEDs are off. Detach the charger after charging is complete. Hibernation mode: The battery enters Hibernation mode to prevent over-discharge of the battery cell voltage to less than 3.0 V or the battery level to less than 10%. You must charge the battery to start it up. Insert the batteries into the charging hub, connect the charger to the charging hub, and the Status LEDs in an array blink successively. The battery can be fully charged in about 1 hours and 35 minutes. After the battery is fully charged, the corresponding LEDs will change to solid green. The battery can be disconnected from the charging hub when charging is complete. This is the first drone in the Mini series to feature obstacle-sensing cameras, and these cover all directions apart from upwards. If the drone is travelling toward an object, it’ll detect it and stop the movement, which significantly lessens the chances of a crash. I found they worked perfectly well, although I confess I wasn’t actively trying to crash my review sample at any point.
